PVP Rewards Track | New World Guide

Last Updated January 16, 2023 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

When I first started playing New World I said I would never get into PVP portions of the game as I’ve never been a PVP-er in most games that I play.

Well, the day has come when I regularly focus on both PVP Missions and helping my company defend and take Territories. Though I cannot sit here pretending that in a week I’ve become a PVP master, I have to say that I’m pleasantly surprised with how many tasks you can complete easily in order to level up your PVP Track.

As someone who does not feel comfortable with all forms of PVP I tend to focus on the easier tasks or tasks that I can solo without too much effort. Admittedly, this makes me not a true “PVP-er” but let’s be honest… a good population of players will be in the same boat as me.

That being said, the biggest draw for me when it came to completing PVP is the PVP Rewards Track and while a PVE players will not need to complete the PVP Track, there are some great rewards that can be useful for both such as Gold or Umbral Shards.

I’m sure I’m going to get much more invested into PVP in the future, especially as I continue to grow the New World community on Twitch but until then I’d like to cover all you need to know about the PVP Track including the rewards you can get and how to farm up your PVP experience whether or you’re getting well invested into PVP or not.

WHAT IS THE PVP REWARDS TRACK?

The PVP Rewards Track is a farmable system that tracks the amount of PVP tasks a player completes. There are several ways a player can level this up, including some that are extremely time-consuming and others extremely simple, yet boring. I will cover these

Each PVP track has 3 checkpoints that will provide the choice between 3 rewards each. These rewards only appear after a player reaches each checkpoint and the rewards will be random.

Players will hit the checkpoints with each of the following amount of experience:

Checkpoint 1 requires 2,000 experience

Checkpoint 2 requires 5,000 experience

Checkpoint 3 requires 10,000 experience

WHAT IS AZOTH SALT?

Azoth Salt is the main PVP currency in New World and can only be used in order to purchase rewards from the Checkpoints of the PVP Track.

Players can gain Azoth Salt by participating in any of the PVP tasks, though players can also gain Azoth Salt from one of the passives on an Outpost.

Azoth Salt is a bit of a difficult resource to get as many of the easy tasks a player can complete will only provide small amounts of Azoth Salt.

Admittedly, while Azoth Salt can feel difficult to get, there aren’t many rewards a player will immediately want to spend on, making saving it up for the “best” rewards quite easy to do.

Due to the fact that a player can hold 100,000 Azoth Salt maximum, players can be very smart about how they spend their Azoth Salt and will not have to regularly spend it on mediocre rewards.

I would honestly wait until a good reward appears before you spend you Azoth Salt, though this will depend on what kind of rewards you feel are worth it. I will cover all of the rewards more thoroughly so you can make a more educated decision.

WHAT IS ALL OF THE PVP CONTENT IN NEW WORLD?

All the PVP Content in New World includes:

Wars

Outpost Rush

3v3 Arenas

Faction Missions

Open-World PVP

The only one of these tasks that will guarantee both experience and Azoth Salt is the Faction Missions as the others will require players to actually be skilled at PVP.

Essentially, if a player does not do well in these PVP games, they will not gain any experience or will get lower amounts, though if they do well they will gain much more experience and Azoth Salt.

In regards to open-world PVP, players will have to successfully kill another player that is flagged in PVP and will gain rewards based on how long that player has been alive since they flagged for PVP. Killing a player who has recently flagged for PVP or was recently killed will essentially provide you with no experience or rewards, so if you’re planning on killing a friend repeatedly… well, this isn’t really going to work.

WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO GET EXPERIENCE FOR THE PVP TRACK

By far the best way to get experience in the PVP Track is to participate in 3v3 PVP Arenas as they are the fastest to complete and will be the task that has the most chances of winning or losing as players tend to be less prepared for these.

I would still recommend that players gear up in PVP-specific Gear as it will really help ensure that you actually survive a few hits as without the Gear often players get one or two shot.

As for the other game modes, Wars and Outpost Rush will provide you with the most experience in regards to PVP the only issue is… well… they take a lot of players to actually begin and will require all players to work with a good amount of synergy in order to actually do well.

While 3v3 battles still need a good amount of synergy and communication, it is so much more relaxed and takes much less time to queue for prepare for and prep for.

I would strongly recommend that players find a good PVP Company if they want to participate in the Wars or Outpost Rush as joining others, especially when not on a voice call can be detrimental to the outcome. With that being said, players who are not in a Company can still participate in either as there are many companies that will call out for help. Don’t take this as a discouragement to not complete PVP content without a Company, but more of an encouragement to either join a discord voice call or to keep the in-game voice chat on.

For those of you who aren’t interested in engaging in more serious PVP, I am happy to say that the PVP Faction Missions are actually a very quick way to get PVP experience and are one of the best ways to get Faction Tokens, so I typically complete at least 3 of them a day for the highest rewards. That being said, due to the fact that they are so simple, I always take them when I am working on the Territory Standing of my different Territories. As you may know by now, I’ve been working at figuring out how fast a player can max out their Territory Standing to 300 in all Territories and have come up with one of the fastest ways with optimization.

While PVP Faction Missions may feel slow due to the amount of running you need to complete and waiting around that needs to be done, there are actually a number of Territories that only need you to run short distances to get to the checkpoint and make it ridiculously fast to complete these. You don’t even need to complete all three to make this feel worth it and I’ll be honest, I don’t take any that require me to kill other players or loot chests because I find them more daunting to complete.

Admittedly, this will take “longer” if you do not optimize the time spent completing PVP missions, however, if you weave these Missions into your gathering adventures they are much more bearable. Not to mention, it will help encourage you to remain flagged for PVP when running around the world for higher Luck.

WHAT ARE THE REWARDS FOR EACH CHECKPOINT IN PVP REWARDS

Each checkpoint of the PVP Track has different rewards for the player, though the buckets are not related to the various checkpoints and each checkpoint may actually contain a good bit of loot.

Now, the important thing to know is that players will receive loot based on the level that they are, meaning that players of a higher level will get higher tier loot or better potions, so players may want to wait until they are level 60 before they actually begin using their Azoth Salt.

Now, it’s going to be up to you as it will highly depend on how much you want to participate in PVP, so you don’t have to listen to me about when to use your Azoth Salt.

The following are the rarities you will be able to receive based on your character level, though if you are not level 60, I promise it is a very fast grind which I have outlined here.

Between levels 0-19 players will receive Tier 2 loot.

Between levels 20-39 players will receive Tier 3 loot.

Between levels 40-59 players will receive Tier 4 loot.

Between levels 60 players will receive Tier 5 loot.

Loot includes Potions, Weapons, Armour, Jewellery, Currency,

The following are the loot tables per Checkpoint:

Checkpoint 1 – Gloves and Boots

Checkpoint 2 – LegArmour, Trinkets, and Weapons

Checkpoint 3 – Helmet, Chestpiece, Weapons, Emotes

Note: There is a 50%chance that the Weaponroll

INCREASING RANK

There are a total of 6 Ranks in the PVP track, each will provide players with a small amount of bonus Azoth Salt and will also unlock new rewards that can be obtained by players.

While the Azoth Salt received from completing the Track is nothing impressive in my opinion, the ability to unlock new rewards is the main priority of why any player will want to participate in PVP or PVP related quests.

I, for example, was able to get myself a sweet new Emote for free by completing a few days of Faction Quests which would normally cost you a decent price of real-life currency otherwise.

The milestone ranks include:

Steel, which requires players to complete a single PVP track.

Bronze, which requires players to complete 5 PVP tracks.

Silver, which requires players to complete 20 PVP tracks.

Gold, which requires players to complete 50 PVP tracks.

Platinum, which requires players to complete 100 PVP track.

Starmetal, which requires players to complete 200 PVP tracks.

Luckily for players, the amount of experience a player will need to complete a PVP will never get higher and each full track will only need 10,000 experience. That being said, in order to get to the max rank of PVP players will need to sink a good amount of time into the game. I would strongly recommend that players take this slowly as to not burn out, especially if players are participating in the higher risk PVP.

I understand that many players actually enjoy PVP games much more than PVE games, however, as is with all PVP games it can be really easy to burn out or get salty/frustrated playing with others. There is truly no rush with getting these rewards as none of them are best in slot, however, if you are someone who wants free Emotes, Umbral Shards or other PVE-related rewards I would recommend starting this grind as soon as you get into a Faction as it’s going to be a much longer grind if you’re not participating in the “true PVP” tasks.

Each Rank opens up the following Loot Tables:

Steel opens up the ability to get Emotes and will provide you with 750 Azoth Salt and 1 Suspended Azoth Salt upon completing a track.

Bronze opens up the ability to get Named Equipment, More Currency and will provide you with 1000 Azoth Salt and 1 Suspended Azoth Salt upon completing a track.

Silver opens up the ability to get Prestigue Equipment, more Emotes, Salt Vial Packs and will provide you with 1500 Azoth Salt and 1 Suspended Azoth Salt upon completing a track.

Gold opens up the ability to get Gypsum, More Currency, More Umbral Shards and will provide you with 750 Azoth Salt and 1 Suspended Azoth Salt upon completing a track.

Platinum opens up the ability to get More Emotes, More Umbral Shards and will provide you with 2500 Azoth Salt and 1 Suspended Azoth Salt upon completing a track.

Starmetal opens up the ability to get More Emotes, More Currency, More Item Drops and will provide you with 750 Azoth Salt and 1 Suspended Azoth Salt upon completing a track.

I personally prioritize Emotes, Gold and sometimes Umbral Shards if I’m running low, though I find Umbral Shards very easy to get in Mutations since I’m running the hard ones regularly. While Gold is easy to get, the closet of Azoth Salt is nowhere near as expensive as many of the other rewards so it feels a bit more worth it. Of course, I also prioritized named Gear or PVP Gear with a high Gear Score that fits my play style.

ALL NAMED DROPS FROM THE PVP REWARD TRACK

Named Drops are going to be some of the sweetest rewards from the PVP Track and though they are not the best in slot players will want to get these in order to ensure that they at least have mediocre gear for PVP.

For some players, these may be their “best in slot” or at least the most affordable as some of the true Best in Slots will be millions on the Trade Post.

The following are all of the options and will be unlocked at Track Level 5:

WEAPONS

The following Weapons are all only available when a player has unlocked the third checkpoint beyond Track level 5:
