How Do Trolls Work? | Troll Pixelings Guide | PewDiePie’s Pixelings

Last Updated January 4, 2021 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

If you’re anything like me, the first time you saw a Troll Pixeling in PewDiePie’s Pixelings you were confused AF.

In my initial review of PewDiePie’s Pixelings, I mentioned that there were two types of Pixelings, but I was clearly mistaken as down the road I would discover the third type.

Troll Pixelings are what I would like to call the assassins of Pixelings, though this can’t be the case as Assasin is already a class.

Troll Pixelings have the ability to attack any enemy Pixeling on the field, however, they follow a few rules to decide which enemy to attack.

The following is a guide that will cover:

How Troll Pixelings Work

Tips on When & How To Use Troll Pixelings

Where To Place Troll Pixelings

HOW DO TROLL PIXELINGS WORK?

Troll Pixelings are set to damage the enemy Pixeling with the lowest health.

If all enemy Pixelings have full health the Troll Pixeling will select an enemy Pixeling to attack at random.

It is recommended that if you use a Troll Pixeling that you also use one Ranged Pixeling. This will help make sure that you can select a Pixeling to target and burst down.

The only time you wouldn’t need a Ranged Pixeling on your team while using a Troll Pixeling is if the enemy team has all Melee Pixelings and you plan to use multiple Troll Pixelings at once.

TIPS ON WHEN & HOW TO USE TROLL PIXELINGS

Troll Pixelings are extremely powerful when against an enemy with the following orientation:

RANGED

MELEE

MELEE

When against teams like this I would always play my team as such:

RANGED

MELEE

TROLL

This will help make sure that I can burst down the top Ranged Pixeling without having the worry of rotating my Pixelings around.

Dependant on which Pixelings are available to you can easily do more damage with one Ranged Pixeling and one Troll Pixeling, especially if you have a Troll Pixeling that is a high level and rank.

Troll Pixelings come in especially handy when completing levels in Floatopia, so make sure you spend time grinding out Cloudia because she can do some hefty damage.

Cloudia does a bit more damage than Pewds does, so if you’re wanting to get some levels done faster or having trouble last-hitting some enemies, choose Cloudia!

Having an ability like Flaming Bolt or Scorching Blast comes in extremely helpful when taking a Troll Pixeling into battle.

You will find that sometimes your Troll Pixeling attacks a Pixeling you don’t want it to, such as the centerfield Melee Pixelings.

In cases where your Troll Pixeling is attacking the wrong Pixeling using Flaming Bolt or Scorching Blast can potentially swing the battle into your favour.

I would recommend staying away from Lightning when using a Troll Pixeling, and I still can’t seem to find a use for it. Maybe one of you has found one for it. Let me know in the comments below.

WHERE TO PLACE TROLL PIXELINGS

Troll Pixelings should always be placed in one of the back placements.

As mentioned, I usually place my Troll Pixeling in front of a Melee Pixeling since I don’t want a Ranged Pixeling targetting a Melee Pixeling.

Troll Pixelings should never be placed in front of a Ranged Pixeling, as this risks them getting burst down.

CONCLUSION

As much as I do my best to swap my Pixelings around optimally, I do a lot of passive grinding, especially while cooking or doing some housework.

It’s important that you keep an eye on your Troll Pixelings though, so sometimes playing passively can burn you, but you do get the hang of it fairly quickly.

I prefer Ranged Pixelings to Troll Pixelings for progression content, but as soon as I’ve completed a level I try to make use of a Troll Pixeling.

Troll Pixelings feel like more fun to play with than the other two and I think it’s because there’s a bit of risk in playing with one.

At the end of the day, using a Troll Pixeling is going to come down to personal preference.

If you’re someone who can rotate their Pixelings easily, a Troll Pixeling may feel unnecessary.

Using a Troll Pixeling will also depend on which Pixelings you ended up getting duplicates for.

Since there are a few Pixelings you can grind out by playing some of the levels, it is strongly recommended that you either Instant Win these daily, or grind them out manually.

Grinding out your extra loot daily will help make sure that you always have some strong Pixelings on your team at all times.

So, I’m curious, do you have a favourite Troll Pixeling?

Which Troll Pixeling do you want the most?

How do you like to use your Troll Pixelings?
