Collection Challenge BTD6 Guide

Last Updated May 21, 2022 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

When it comes to playing any game, it’s going to be important to equip yourself with as much knowledge as you can as it can really make your gameplay a lot smoother and easier.

While it’s true that any level can be beaten with any Hero and without any Monkey Knowledge, the reality is that the average player is not going to be interested in pushing content in the toughest way.

As someone who has played Bloons TD 6 since very early on into its release and have obviously been writing guides and have been making YouTube videos on how to clear content, I can wholeheartedly tell you that it is a really tough game to play well and come up with strategies for.

As much as I’ve put time and effort into researching and learning which Towers work the best with each other, I still have plenty of moments where bloons leak around Round 95+ in C.H.I.M.P.S. so to help give you a bit of a reassurance that everything is going to be okay, know that everyone struggles with this game.

Admittedly, I have been told by members in my Twitch Community that they have struggled so much that they have had to put down the game and many have said that they would not return. Though, my goal is to help give you a bit of extra information so you don’t feel the same way.

One of the biggest “hacks” in the game is the Collection Challenge. These events include:

  • Easter
  • May the Fourth
  • American Independence Day
  • Halloween
  • Christmas

During these events, players will need to be able to complete any map in order to collect “Totems” from completing the map successfully. Players will still be able to push past the “completion Round” (being Round 40, 60, 80 and 100) if they want to further farm Insta-Monkeys, though during collection events players should be able to successfully obtain a great deal of Insta-Monkeys, making the Round 100 grind less appealing.

HOW DO COLLECTION EVENTS WORK?

There are a few things you need to know about Collection Events. As mentioned, players will be required to collect Totums in order to fill up the various bars.

While players will be able to complete any map in order to get the featured Totem, there are going to be two ways that players collect the most Totems for their time spent.

Firstly, players are encouraged to complete the daily challenges as these provide players with a substantial amount of Totems. For the current Collection Challenge that is out, players are receiving between 25-50 Totems, though this may be different for future events as BTD6 tends to change this from time to time.

Players will also want to take note of the featured map. Each tier of Map will have a single Map that is featured and will provide players with more Totems. It is strongly recommended that players only complete the maps that reap extra rewards as this will help you get Insta-Monkeys faster as well as rank up your Crates earlier.

It will take a player quite a bit of time before they are able to rank up their Crates the whole way, though once players access Diamond Crates, they will be able to farm these indefinitely, allowing them to get the highest tier Insta-Monkeys for the rest of the duration of the event.

TYPES OF CRATE & THEIR REWARDS

The main reason players will want to complete the Collection Reward quickly is due to the fact that the higher tier Crates drop much better loot.

There are 5 different types of Crates, being Wooden, Bronze, Silver, Golden and Diamond. The following are the Insta-Monkeys they provide:

WOODEN CRATE REWARDS

Wooden Crates will always drop 2 Insta-Monkeys. There is a high chance that the Insta-Monkeys will be Tier-1, though there is a low chance they will be Tier-2.

BRONZE CRATE REWARDS

Bronze Crates will always drop 2 Insta-Monkeys with a low chance that the Insta-Monkeys will be Tier-1 or Tier-3, but with a high chance that they will be Tier-2.

SILVER CRATE REWARDS

Silver crates will always drop 2 Insta-Monkeys with a high chance to drop Tier-2 Insta-Monkeys and a low chance they will drop Tier-3.

GOLDEN CRATE REWARDS

Golden Crates will drop 2 or 3 Insta-Monkeys with a high chance that they will be Tier-3 and a low chance they will be Tier-4.

DIAMOND CRATE REWARDS

Diamond Crates also have the chance to drop 2 or 3 Insta-Monkeys with a low chance to drop a Tier-5 Insta-Monkey, medium chance to drop Tier-3 Insta-Monkeys and a high chance to drop a Tier-4 Insta-Monkey.

HOW MANY TOTEMS DO YOU NEED FOR AN INSTA-MONKEY?

While it seems like the Events in BTD 6 have become more consistent with the amount of Totems players need in order to receive Crates, I can’t say that it’s always been that way.

At the moment the most recent events have needed the following amount of Totems for their Crate Rewards:

20 Totems – Wooden Crate

30 Totems – Bronze Crate

40 Totems – Silver Crate

50 Totems – Golden Crate

70 Totems – Diamond Crate

HOW MANY TOTEMS DO YOU NEED TO LEVEL UP YOUR CRATES?

As mentioned, players will need to unlock the different tiers of Totems in order to get the better crates. Admittedly, there are some events that I find this very easy, though sometimes I simply don’t have the time to play Bloons TD 6, making me miss out on a good amount of Insta-Monkeys.

Though this is true, given how many events get run a year, it’s not really a problem and I strongly recommend not stressing out too much if you’re newer to the game.

Similar to the amount of Totems needed to get a crate, this amount tends to change. At the moment the current event requires the following to unlock the different tiers:

Default – Wooden Crate

90 – Bronze Crate

230 – Silver Crate

350 – Golden Crate

700 – Diamond Crate

Though the following is the typical need required:

Default – Wooden Crate

100 – Bronze Crate

250 – Silver Crate

350 – Golden Crate

1,000 Diamond Crate
