Anemo & Geo Treasure Compass | How to Easily Farm Chests | Genshin Impact

Last Updated May 14, 2021 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

When it comes to grinding out resources in Genshin Impact it’s undeniable that one of the best ways to do so is locating Chests around Teyvat.

Wouldn’t it be lovely if you had a tool that guides you towards all of the Chests that are close to you? Well the reality is that there are two tools that will help you just that, they’re just not available immediately for players and will require players to spend time grinding weekly in order to unlock.

The reality is that it can be pretty difficult to find Chests if you don’t have any assistance, especially if you’re not aware of all the various types of chests and the tasks that you’ll have to complete in order to actually acquire them.

While the following tools aren’t going to be accessible to early game players, the reality is that it only takes a few weeks for players to be able to be able to acquire the tools I’m about to mention.

WHAT ARE THE ANEMO AND GEO TREASURE COMPASS?

The Anemo and Geo Treasure Compasses are Gadgets players can use in order to locate nearby Chests in Liyue or Mondstadt depending on which type of Compass the player equips.

Shockingly an unlimited use Gadget, players can equip the Anemo Treasure Compass to search Mondstadt and the Geo Treasure Compass to search Liyue.

HOW TO UNLOCK THE ANEMO AND GEO TREASURE COMPASS

In order to unlock either of the compasses players must grind out their Weekly Bounties and Requests as players will have to reach Reputation Level 6 in Mondstadt for the Anemo Treasure Compass recipe and Reputation Level 6 in Liyue for the Geo Treasure Compass.

While players can also achieve this by doing some quests and exploration, Requests and Bounties are going to be the fastest way to acquire these levels, as they provide the highest reputation rewards as possible.

Players will take a number of weeks in order to grind their reputation as there is a cap on how much Reputation they can grind a week.

Upon getting to Reputation Level 6 players will not simply receive an Anemo Treasure Compass or Geo Treasure Compass, however, they will simply receive a blueprint to craft either of them.

HOW TO CRAFT THE ANEMO TREASURE COMPASS

The Anemo Treasure Compass requires the following resources:

10 Golden Raven Insignia

30 Philanemo Mushroom

50 Crystal Chunk

50,000 Mora

HOW TO CRAFT THE GEO TREASURE COMPASS

The Geo Treasure Compass requires the following resources:

10 Golden Raven Insignia

30 Cor Lapis

50 Crystal Chunk

50,000 Mora

HOW TO USE THE ANEMO AND GEO TREASURE COMPASS

In order to use either the Anemo or Geo Treasure Compass, players must head to their Gadget Tab and select the Compass that is associated to the location they would like to investigate. If players use the wrong Compass they will be told that the Compass cannot be used in that location.

Both the Anemo and Geo Traveller Compasses have different ranges depending on what kind of chest it is locating, if a chest is more rare the range is smaller, meaning that a player will have to be closer to the chest in order to actually locate it using a Compass.

Upon using an Anemo or Geo Traveller Compass players will witness a trail that points them in the direction of where they can head to find a chest, as long as there is one close enough.

If used successfully the Anemo or Geo Traveller Compass will have a 30 second cooldown, though if there is no Chest nearby and the Anemo or Geo Compass is unable to locate a chest, players will only experience a 5 second cooldown.

Players will want to make sure that they are standing in an ideal location when they use a Compass as having anything covering the trail may end up to needing to wait another 30 seconds to locate the chest that is located nearby.

I will say, the Compasses are very quick in animation so it can be difficult to see what way to head, so make sure you’re paying attention.

Frustratingly the Compasses tend to be kinda wonky when players are above or below a chest as oftentimes the trail will go through the floor or through the wall so make sure you’re paying close attention or that you look around yourself to choose what way to travel especially if you notice the 30-second cooldown.

With the Compasses players should be able to get enough Primogems to do a few wishes, especially if they are lucky enough to get better chests.

LIMITATIONS OF THE ANEMO AND GEO TREASURE COMPASSES

There are a few things that players should keep in mind when it comes to using both the Anemo and Geo Treasure Compasses.

While extremely helpful, there are a few limitations to using them that a player should know about so that they aren’t stuck in a situation where they don’t understand why the compass is not working.

As mentioned the Anemo Treasure Compass can only be used in Mondstadt and will not be useful in Dragonspire.

The Geo Treasure Compass can only be used in Liyue.

There is a range limitation to both compasses, requiring players to run around a bit if they are unable to locate a chest at first.

The Anemo and Geo Treasure Compass cannot be used when players are in combat, gliding, climbing or in domains.

The Anemo and Geo Treasure Compass are unable to locate Seelies, time based challenges or puzzles, unless the chest is already visible. This means that players will not be able to locate chests that are underground or require players to interact with a plant, dig spot or anything else that initiates the chest to spawn.
