When it comes to playing Genshin Impact players are going to be held back by a variety of resources, some of the main ones being Intertwined Fates or Acquaint Fates which will help players get the Wishes that they need in order to obtain better Characters and Weapons.
While at first Mora doesn’t seem to be an issue for players as the lower level upgrades players will be trying to access means nothing, the reality is that late-game upgrades are quite frustrating to acquire, requiring as little as 1,000,000 Mora for an upgrade from level 70-80 Weapons.
While players will get a steady amount of income simply by travelling around the Genshin Impact world, the reality is that players are sometimes going to need to buckle down and focus, especially if they are doing a good amount of upgrades for the week.
Being someone who has just hit the stage where every upgrade is going to cost him 1,000,000+ Mora, I’ve had to get pretty tactical with how I collect Mora, because nothing is worse than not being able to do the next tier of challenges or adventuring simply because you haven’t done enough grinding to fuel the cost of actually upgrading your items, weapons and characters.
The following are my favourite ways of collecting a good amount of Mora and when I choose to do them, as not every method of collecting Mora is going to be a good idea if players are trying to acquire different things in the game.
I would strongly recommend keeping the Mora grind in the back of your head no matter what you are doing as Mora is always going to be a resource you need, especially as players head to the late game.
ALWAYS DO DAILY COMMISSIONS
Doing dailies in any game is always going to be your main priority as it is normally the best way to get the resources you need.
Luckily for players, they will only need to clear 4 quests in order to finish their Daily Commissions equalling about 20,000 Mora daily due to each commision yielding between 3,925 to 5,950 Mora.
While higher yielding Commissions aren’t guaranteed, players will make at least 15,700 Mora if they are only given the lowest yields for each of their daily Commissions.
In my opinion, this is still a huge gain, as it will be the quickest way to make some quick cash for players.
EXPLORE & OPEN CHESTS
I have to admit, there are many a night where I spend time just searching the World for chests in hopes of being able to get a few Primogems and Sigils.
While Chests are great for a variety of reasons, some main reasons being their vast amount of Artifacts and other powerup items, the main resource we are going to be focussing on today are the Sigils.
Players will be able to receive between 2-5 Sigils while opening a chest, acquiring different types based on which part of the world they are presently in.
Players will also be able to investigate in certain locations on Mountains in order to excavate Sigils, also acquiring about 2-5 per inspection.
Players can then exchange these Sigils at Vendors once they have purchased all of the items they wanted from from the Vendors in order to trade 1 or 2 Sigils for 1,600 Mora.
Players will only have the opportunity to pay 1 Sigil for Mora for a maximum of 50 exchanges and then they will have to pay the full-price of 2 Sigils.
While this may seem like a limiting way to collect Mora, the reality is this is one of the best ways to passively get Mora while playing the game as players will always want to make sure that they farm any chests that they see around the world.
GET TO THE HIGHEST COMFORT LEVEL IN YOUR SERENITEA POT
With one of the later updates in Genshin Impact players became the proud owners of their own housing unit located in their very own Serenitea Pot.
While grinding up a player’s comfort level can take a long time, players can focus on placing only purple objects or placing sets around their Serenitea Pot to boost the amount of currency they accumulate on an hourly basis in order to buy Mora.
While there are a number of items players can purchase in their Real Depot, I personally like to focus on Hero’s Wit and Mora in order to level up my characters as I don’t find it difficult to actually gather a good amount of Artifacts, especially since I’m currently upgrading my character’s Artifacts when using my Original Resin.
Players can purchase a maximum of 200,000 Mora a week, costing them 2,400 of the currency in order to make all 20 purchases.
Obviously if there are other things that you need from the shop focus on those, but 200,000 Mora a week is nothing to scoff at.
TRADE IN YOUR STARDUST FOR MORA
While Stardust is a more rare resources to come by, the reality is that there aren’t many great options for purchase when it comes to the shop.
Players, in my opinion, should focus on the Fates and the Mora each month as the reality is that players who save their resources wisely will be able to buy both these things with no negatives.
Players will essentially exchange 10 Stardust for 10,000 Mora up to a maximum of 60 times, essentially providing players with a monthly income of 600,000 Mora.
LEY LINE OUTCROPS
While I’m not a huge fan of completing Ley Line Outcrops and actually acquiring their rewards, the reality is that Ley Line Outcrops are one of the best generators for income as each yield of a Blossom of Wealth will provide players with between 12,000 to 60,000 Mora depending on which world they are currently in.
My biggest reason for avoiding the Ley Line Outcrops is the fact that Original Resin is a time gated resource and if you haven’t ascended all of the characters you are currently using or do not have the Artifacts that you need for them, this is going to be where you focus your main efforts.
Essentially, Ley Line Outcrops are not worth it for players to grind in the mid-game as players will only begin getting a substantial amount of Mora in the late game when their World has advanced to World Level 6 or above.
Until then, focus on grinding World Bosses for a plethora of Ascension Materials and then Artifacts as soon as you have access to grinding 5* Artifacts, that way by the time you actually need the Mora you already have the majority of your characters ascended and levelled up so you can simply focus on the Mora grind.
The reality is that Artifacts are the hardest thing to farm and are not worth it until later on as low-tier Artifacts do not benefit a player very much, but Ascension Materials, although admittedly you do get less of in lower levels, are a constant that players will need to rely on for their whole journey as a player.
I strongly recommend getting as many of these as possible early on, simply because you’re not going to want to waste time in the late game while you’re trying to get Weapons and Artifacts levelled up.
At the end of the day, Ley Line Outcrops are not going to be necessary if players are good at good at rationing their Mora early on, but they can give you the Mora boost that you need when you’ve farmed out all the other resources you needed to get where you are.
Try to avoid opening Ley Line Blossoms if you can, but if you’re really struggling there is no shame in opening them up.
On the flip side, if you’re an early enough player who does not have access to the domains or cannot defeat the higher tier bosses, open up some Blossoms, you won’t have much to waste your Original Resin on at first.
COMPLETE WORLD QUESTS, SIDE QUESTS & STORY QUESTS
While I must say that I often complain about the story in Genshin Impact as the reality for me is that I am very uninterested in how long certain cutscenes are and just how boring some aspects of the story are, the reality is that World Quests, Side Quests and Story Quests are not only a great way to collect Mora, Adventure Experience and other resources that may seem useful in the game.
I strongly recommend locating each one of these kinds of quests as soon as you can in order to complete them as they become more and more rare as a player progresses through the story,
Players may not know, but they can actually unlock Story Quests by completing 2 days worth of daily Commissions by clicking the Story Quests button in the quests tab.
These come in very handy for players as they will provide a great yield of Primogems and often Mora as well as other resources.
FOCUS ON YOUR BATTLE PASS
Completing a Battle Pass can feel daunting, especially if you are a player who doesn’t have a good amount of time to dump in Genshin Impact, however, it is extremely clear that it is one of the best ways that players are able to get a hefty amount of Mora.
The Battle Pass is quite passive and often features missions that a player would do no matter what they are doing in the game, meaning that a player doesn’t really need to try hard in order to focus on these missions.
Even if you complete 30 levels of the Battle Pass, you’re looking at a hefty amount of Mora, so get to grinding folks!
FOCUS ON ELITE MOBS
While ascending Weapons tends to sit in the back of most players’ minds, especially if they are not currently levelling up a specific weapon, players should try to keep on top of as many materials as they can as grinding out resources in the endgame can feel daunting.
While the reality is that many of the items dropped in the early game are “unusable” for later tier upgrades, the even bigger reality is that players will still be able to use these resources in order to craft the upper tier resources to still make them useable.
Players can head to their Enemies Tab in the Handbook in order to locate all the Mobs, choosing whether or not to do a World Boss (which truthfully aren’t my main focus in the late game when I have my ascension materials) or the Elite Mobs which are way at the bottom of the list.
Do this for a few hours while you’re searching for chests and you will be golden.
While not all mobs drop a good amount of Mora, they will be more useful for you when you’re biting your nails trying to get the grind on for Weapon Ascension materials.
KILL ANY MORA SQUIRREL
As players explore the Genshin Impact World they will discover golden looking squirrels running around.
Players will be able to kill these squirrels before they burrow, though I strongly recommend immediately slashing them after your first investigate once they have burrowed.
Be quick because the Mora Squirrel runs fast, dropping 1 Mora at a time quickly until it is killed.
If players successfully kill the Mora Squirrel they will receive between 500-2,000 Mora, not seeming like much, but is very useful when players find a number of them.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to search for these squirrels, but I would keep an eye out on them and try to kill them anytime you see them.
COMPLETE MORA EXPEDITIONS
While I personally try to use my Expeditions for more valuable resources, the reality is that 5,000 Mora per expedition is nothing to scoff at.
Players have the option to grind up Mora by sending their characters on 20h long expeditions in order to gain a passive income, though if players can use other resources they should always focus these first.
BOUNTIES & REQUESTS
As one of your weeklies you are going to want to make sure that you always complete your Bounties and Requests.
Players will be looking at at between 20,000-30,000 Mora per Bounty or Request and will be able to finish them even if players have made it to the final reputation rank, making it extremely repeatable.
I would strongly recommend finishing the highest tier of Bounty that you are able to complete as this is going to help you get the highest rewards you can get.
PROGRESS YOUR SPIRAL ABYSS
While players may try to leave the Spiral Abyss until they are stronger the reality is that players will be able to get some decent rewards from getting one or two stars from their early game grind.
Getting your first 8 floors done early, even without completing all of the stars, will also give you access to bi-weekly farming for Primogems and Mora, so the faster you get this done, the faster you get that easier grind.
Get ‘er done!
FINISH YOUR ADVENTURE BOOK CHAPTERS
While I would strongly recommend holding off on some of your Adventure Book Chapters, especially those that require you to refine Artifacts or Weapons until you are happy with your setup, the reality is that they are filled with resources that you will find helpful, especially when they drop up to 100,000+ Mora simply for completing.
Always check in with your Adventure Book to see if there are any missions you have completed or if there is anything you can focus on, as this can be a great guide to see what activities you should do in order to better yourself as a player.
BREAK DOWN YOUR ARTIFACTS
While I strongly recommend against breaking down your Artifacts, the reality is that you are able to use them to get some Mora, especially if you’re constantly maxing out on your Artifacts.
The reason I strongly recommend against this method of Mora is because Artifacts can be used to fuel better Artifacts and level them up.
I would recommend only resorting to this if you do not have any Artifacts that need upgrading or if you’re really struggling for Mora and don’t need to turn in many Artifacts to get the Mora you need.
DAILY CHECK-INS
Something I was completely unaware of when it came to Genshin Impact was the Daily Check-in done by HoYoLAB.
Unfortunately the Daily Check-in is not featured in-game, which is why it is easily missed and will require players to head to this link in order to claim their rewards such as Primogems, Character Level Up materials and of course Mora.
I would strongly recommend doing these because they can really boost your account and let’s be honest, free stuff is always nice!
