With the latest 1.5 Genshin Impact update came a variety of new resources with a great deal of focus on housing.
Players will be happy to know that after completing a short quest line they will have access to a Serenitea Pot house system, essentially allowing players to place their Serenitea Pot on the floor in order to teleport to their own private home.
In this Serenitea Pot home, players will be able to decorate and place a variety of decorations and crafting tables in order to spend the majority of their time inside of their own private unit, though players will quickly realize that they are going to have to complete a number of hours of resource grinding in order to be able to craft all of their resources that they need.
Although players will be spending a good amount of their time grinding out fruits for dyes or flowers for fabrics, players will need to spend the majority of their time gathering wood from the various trees inside of the Genshin Impact world.
Players will have to trade in an average of 6-12 pieces of wood for all the lower tier items, meaning that players are going to want to make sure that they regularly farm trees while adventuring and completing quests, especially if players do not have much extra time on their hands.
I strongly recommend that while players do their dailies, they smack as many trees as they can as having an excess of wood is going to prove to be very beneficial after this update, especially if players are trying to quickly level up their reputation inside of their Serenitea Pot home.
The following guide is going to give you all the information you need about located the various types of wood while exploring the main Genshin Impact world.
HOW TO COLLECT WOOD IN GENSHIN IMPACT?
In order for a player to begin collecting wood in Genshin Impact, players will need to locate large trees in the Overworld.
It should be noted that shrubs and bushes will not drop any resources, so don’t waste your time smacking these as… *cough* I may have done that for about 10 minutes on stream while complaining that I didn’t understand the new update. Yes. I’m daft.
When players have located the suitable tree that they would like to collect the resources from they must select a Melee Character to whack the tree as no Catalyst or Bow user will be able to cause the resource to fall from the tree.
HOW MANY PIECES OF WOOD DO YOU GET PER TREE?
Trees will drop between 3-5 wood per Tree.
Players can continue hitting the Tree but no resources will drop, though it does seem like you can teleport back and forth between a location in order for the wood to respawn.
Though this is currently true, it is not certain whether or not this is simply a glitch or something that will remain implemented in the game.
FRAGRANT CEDAR
Fragrant Cedar Trees are most commonly found near Wolvendom as players can teleport to the waypoint that is to the right of Andrus (in the East.)
The trees you are interested in will have fairly thick bases with tall trunks and leaves high up from the ground.
Although not like the Cedar Trees I’m used to seeing, these trees are fairly commonly found on your way walking towards Wolvendom, so I strongly recommend trying to smack all of these trees when you are completing your weekly challenge for your Battle Pass.
Players will be able to find Fragrant Cedars most commonly to be honest as they are also in Springvale and sprinkled all around Mondstadt.
All locations for Fragrant Cedar Wood:
Wolvendom
Starfell Valley
FIR WOOD
Fir Wood requires players to teleport to the Midsummer Courtyard to locate.
These trees look like evergreens, having quite some height, though their trunks will be visible through their leaves.
They are often clumped together and near mountains, so be ready to do some climbing while you are getting them.
All locations for Fir Wood:
Cuijue Slope
Dadaupa Gorge
Cape Oath
Galesong Hill
Starfell Valley
BIRCH WOOD
Birch Wood is some of the easiest wood to locate as players will simply have to teleport to the first Statue of the Seven that they locate in Starfell Lake.
Birch Trees vary in colour, ranging from yellow to green and while they have thin trunks they have quite a bit of foliage making them very visible to players from afar.
While you’re by Starfell Lake, I strongly recommend collecting some Fowl as there will be lots of birds in the area.
I often use this Statue of the Seven to heal, so if you’re anything like me, you’re going to have a lot of Birch Wood as you complete your adventuring.
All locations for Birch Wood:
Windwail Highland
Dawn Winery
Springvale
Wolvendom
CUIHUA WOOD
By far the hardest wood for me to locate was Cuihua Wood as there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of trees that drop this resource.
I was able to locate some near Cecilia Garden, but I was also able to locate some near Midsummer Courtyard.
Trees that drop Cuihua Wood are shorter than most, looking somewhat like Maple Trees to me (can you tell I was Canadian).
They have a medium sized trunk and symmetrical leaves at the top.
All locations for Cuihua Wood:
Springvale
Wolvendom
Starfell Valley
Bishui Plain
SANDBEARER WOOD
Sandbearer Wood is quite easy to spot as they are located in the Dihua Marsh and the trees can be told apart from others due to their trunks being pushed.
It seems like these trees have been windswept, similar to real life trees that live in dry windy locations and seem to be rarer than other types of trees.
I do have to say, the Dihua Marsh is filled with a number of Trees that don’t drop resources, so I would recommend dropping a few waypoints on the map for you to easily locate them because it gets annoying trying to find the Trees again.
All locations for Sandbearer Wood:
Guili Plains
Lihua Pool
Cuijue Slope
Dunyu Ruins
Minlin
Lisha
BAMBOO SEGMENTS
I’m really not shocked that Bamboo Segments became a resource as I was actually thinking to myself a few weeks ago about how awesome it would be if you could felled these lanky trees.
Bamboo Segments are most commonly located in Qingce Village and will be located down the many paths of this area.
Most commonly Bamboo Stalks can be located behind buildings and will be very close to each other, meaning that a player can simply use a charged attack to pick up all of the Bamboo Segments that land on the ground.
PINE WOOD
Pine Wood is only located in the Dragonspire Region and look fairly similar to Fir Wood, though these trees all have snow on them and have less pines than the Fir Trees.
Players will simply want to travel to as many Teleport Waypoints as they can in order to quickly grind this resource, though the reality is that there are an odd amount of trees for such a snowy area.
