In hopes of producing video related content I started looking up story games that I could play either on Twitch or YouTube and ended up finding myself A Memoir Blue on my Xbox Gamepass subscription.
Being that I haven’t played a silent/non-voiced over video game since GRIS and LostWind, I was terribly excited to play A Memoir Blue, being that both were impactful games for me that I thoroughly enjoyed.
A Memoir Blue is considered a video poem that tells the complicated story of a daughter and a mother, covering the tale of how they left a father to live on their own and the daughter’s journey in becoming a successful swimmer.
While beautiful, I wasn’t 100% sold on my play through, though that didn’t mean that I wasn’t going to achievement hunt after playing it because as we all know… that’s what I do!
The following guide will take you through all the hidden elements of the game.
There are a total of 15 achievements players will be able to obtain on all playforms including XBox (Xbox One/Xbox Series/Xbox Gamepass), Steam and Play Station (PS5/PS4).
The first scene takes us through the reminiscing of the main character as we gain a bit of information of her past as a swimmer.
She sits alone in her living room as the player interacts with the space.
EMPTY YOUR CUP – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #1
Shortly after the player interacts with the main character’s belongings they will be taken to a scene with a water glass.
In this scene instead of pulling the ice cubes to the bottom of the glass, to reveal fish, players will have to remove all the ice cubes from the glass.
Doing so will reveal the first achievement Empty Your Cup.
SURFING THE RADIO WAVES – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #2
When players have gotten to the point where they are able to tamper with the radio they will have to turn the dial onto each station and will have to press the second and third button for each.
Each time a player presses one of the buttons above it will change the display on the radio to give the player a bit more information as to what is happening in the story.
GLOW UP – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #3
When players reach the stage where they are looking at the city skyline players will have to illuminate the billboard before they force the sky into a sunset.
The Glow Up achievement seems to appear at different times for players, for me it was when I made it night and for other players it happened immediately when they illuminated the Billboard.

Chapter 2 takes us through the journey of the main character in the subway, documenting the story of her childhood and what happened between her parents.
Players will have a bit of time before their achievement is available.
HOPPING THE TURNSTILE – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #4
When players reach the ticket booth with the two coins in front of it players will have to try to avoid paying.
To do so, pick up the coins and toss them off the screen.
Doing so will make the coins bounce back, but you can keep throwing the coins until the achievement appears.
I would strongly recommend throwing the coins to the right or left of the screen for this part.
Chapter 3 tells the story of a boat trip the characters take after the subway ride. Assumedly, wherever the characters moved was quite far from their original location.
WOOD WAR – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #5
When players are at the spot where they must re-assemble the bridge players will have to knock a plank out of the water using another plank.
To do so, try to drag a plank that is above another or smash a plank into another to force another to fall.
Don’t worry, knocking a plank out of the water will only lead to it respawning at the top as you will not be able to fail any mechanics in this game.
SIREN SONG – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #6
When players are on the boat and getting it ready to sail players will have to put the key into the ignition and then will need to drag the radio in front of the speaker.
Doing so will begin playing a song instead of providing the player with looping feedback.
OH BUOY – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #7
When players are on the 2D map that requires them to drive the boat around they will need to locate 4 Buoys.
Keep clicking your boat around to steer it before docking and their locations are always in the same place as documented above.
BUBBLING OVER – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #8
When players have reached the point where there is a golden photo and a pink fish players will be able to move the pink fish.
Use the fish to draw circles around the golden photo over and over again until a circle of bubbles appears.
Chapter 4 takes us through the journey of the character in their new apartment.
FAN SERVICE – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #9
In the first scene as players float to the outside of the apartment players will have to look to the left of the screen where there is a pinwheel.
Keep interacting with this pinwheel to force the fan to spin.
KNOCK ‘EM DOWN – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #10
When players reach the storage unit they will see a box of umbrellas to the right.
Above this box of umbrellas players will be able to interact with an umbrella multiple times to drop it into the box with the rest.
FLIPPER FRIEND – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #11
When players have reached the final area of Chapter 4, where the escalators are located, players will see a mobile of dolphins to the right.
Drag these dolphins downwards in order to get Flipper Friend.
The 5th chapter takes us through the main character’s life in school, giving us a bit of information of their feelings towards swimming itself.
SINK AND SWIM – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #12
During the scene where players have to swim across the pool, players will have to remain underwater the whole time in order for the darkness to take over.
Players should not stop this interaction as they will not get the achievement otherwise.
The final chapter ties up the whole story and gives us insight on how the character is currently feeling about their relationship with the mother.
MIRROR, MIRROR… – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #13
Mirror, Mirror requires players to assemble the mirror on the carousel without making a mistake.
HOME SWEET HOME – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #14
Players only need to complete the story in order to get this achievement.
ALL DONE! – TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT #15
All done requires players to get all 14 of the other achievements before it unlocks.
