The Super Monkey is by far the most powerful and expensive Tower players can place in all of Bloons TD 6.
While powerful, the Super Monkey is a Tower players will want to think long and hard about placing one as it will take a player a good amount of time to fully upgrade a Super Monkey to it’s highest tier.
The Super Monkeys each have different strengths for players and each will provide support in different situations, ultimately making the placement of all types of Super Monkeys a great asset for players.
As powerful as a Super Monkey is, early placement of a Super Monkey can be fatal to a player as the reality is that Super Monkeys are too costly for the damage they originally output, essentially being outweighed by lower costing towers, especially in earlier rounds.
The following guide will take players through all the Super Monkeys they have access to as well as when players should place each to make the most use of their properties.
PATH 1 TIER-5 SUPER MONKEY – TRUE SUN GOD
By far the most powerful upgrade path for a Super Monkey is the True Sun God, however, it does come with a great amount of sacrifice that players must make in order to fully empower the True Sun God with it’s full damage capabilities.
The Sun Temple as a base has a capability of popping 15 layers of bloons at a time, though as mentioned earlier, players will have to sacrifice other towers in order to make the most out of this upgrade.
Players will need to sacrifice towers very similarly to the previous Sun Temple upgrade earning different upgrades based on how much money was spent on each tower and how many types of towers are destroyed.
You can read about the intricate upgrades here, but the following are the maximum stats a player can receive (the Monkey represents upgrades that can be achieved from previous tiers and the stars are upgrades that are only accessible for The True Sun God):
PRIMARY MONKEY SACRIFICES
ā The True Sun God receives 40 pierce to its main attack
š The True Sun God receives 100% attack speed to its main attack
š The True Sun God 5 damage to its main attack
ā The True Sun God receives 16 golden blades that damage every 1.5 seconds, dealing 25 damage with 20 pierce
ā The True Sun God receives a golden glaive attack that bounces between the nearest bloons, dealing 30 damage and 50 pierce every 0.5 seconds.
MILITARY MONKEY SACRIFICES
ā The True Sun God receives 100% larger projectile size, which is its maximum
ā The True Sun God receives 100% projectile speed, which is its maximum
ā The True Sun God receives 30 pierce to all its attacks
ā The True Sun God gains two golden missiles that have an infinite range, dealing 75 damage to a maximum of 50 bloons every second. The second missile has an increased projectile speed.
ā The True Sun God gains 4 golden Spectres that shoot darts that deal 15 damage and 10 pierce and bombs that deal 10 damage with 30 pierce every 0.15 seconds. Each Spectre has a different flight path, including Circle, Centered Path, Figure-Infinite and Figure-Eight, essentially providing players with all the possible flight paths.
MAGIC MONKEY SACRIFICES
ā The True Sun God gains 12 homing magic shots that deal 35 damage and 7 pierce every 2 seconds.
ā The True Sun God gainsa 40% chance to distract bloons with its main attack.
š The True Sun God gains a forcefield attack which is activated every 5 seconds. The forcefield attack can knockback bloons, affecting up to 500 bloons at a time. It should be noted that the strongest bloon the forcefield can affect is a Ceramic Bloon and MOAB-class bloons.
ā The True Sun God can now spawn mini Sun Avatar every 15 seconds that deals 4 damage per shot. Mini Sun Avatars do not technically have a footprint, meaning that players can still place other towers near or on top of the summoned mini Sun Avatars. It should also be noted that mini Sun Avatars have a lifespan of 65 seconds, meaning that players can acquire up to 6 mini Sun Avatars at most, with the help of a speed buff.
SUPPORT TOWER SACRIFICES
ā The True Sun God gains 10 range
ā The True Sun God provides a 40% discount to all nearby towers and their upgrades.
ā The True Sun God provides a 40% attack speed bonus to all towers within its range
ā The True Sun God provides $10,000 at the end of each round
ā The True Sun God provides 100% more cash from bloons popped within its range
ā The True Sun God provides 6 pierce to all towers within its range
ā The True Sun God provides 40% range to all towers in its range
ā The True Sun God provides 4 damage to all towers in its range
When it comes to upgrading The True Sun God, players should be aware that doing so may leave them vulnerable to bloons leaking simply because the majority if not all the Towers will be consumed by this upgrade.
I have definitely been in situations where I’ve upgraded a Sun Avatar into The True Sun God and have lost the map simply because I didn’t have any other towers placed further along in the track.
In order to avoid losing a map, I recommend placing some extra support Towers further long in the map or at least just out of the Sun Avatar’s radius to ensure that not all Towers are consumed.
Players are recommended to place strong Towers outside of the radius, using towers like the Crossbow Master or even MOAB Eliminator to ensure that players have some overall defences that will cover all of a player’s needs before bloons leak.
Players can purchase the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey Monkey Knowledge in order to release an even more powerful version of the True Sun God.
To summon the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey players will need to enable the Monkey Knowledge and build a Sun Temple with maximum sacrifices, though players must note that costs are only counted after their discounts.
Players will also need to place a fully upgraded tier-5 Path 2 Super Monkey (The Anti-Bloon) outside of the radius of the Sun Temple. Players must ensure that this Tower does not get sacrificed.
Upon upgrading the Sun Temple to The True Sun God the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey will appear if everything is done right.
The Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey will gain all of the upgrades of The True Sun God though it will gain an extra 50 damage and triple the magic the damage of the magic damage, bringing it up to 12.
It should be noted that if a player places an Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey, players will no longer be able to place an Anti-Bloon or Legend of the Night Super Monkey unless sold.
Though this is true, the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey is more powerful than having all three Towers on the screen. Schweet, eh?
By far if players are able to afford the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey, they should use it!
The unfortunate reality is that it is extremely expensive to place, making it very hard to place (if not impossible) to place in the hardest game modes, especially CHIMPS.
The following are the upgrades of a fully maxed Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey. The Monkey will represent the upgrades players can get with The True Sun God and the Imp represents those that can only be upgraded with the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey.

PATH 2 TIER-5 SUPER MONKEY – THE ANTI BLOON
While The Anti Bloon is not the most powerful Tower players can place, The Anti-Bloon is arguably one of the best Towers players can place in hopes of damaging bloons in a large radius.
The Anti-Bloon will both deal strong damage using it’s main attack, but will also have a special ability players can activate in order to deal 3,500 damage in a 100 range radius to quickly blast bloons before they leak.
The Anti-Bloon Super Monkey will deal 5 damage per eat plasma blast, each having 13 pierce and shooting extremely fast every 0.048 seconds.
The Anti-Bloon can shred through all types of bloons making it a perfect option for most maps, though due to its high cost players may have to farm multiple Banana Farms.
In general when it comes to cross pathing a Path 2 The Anti-Bloon, players are usually recommended to cross path with Path 1 as this will help the player deal much more damage.
Essentially Path 2 doubles the damage of The Anti-Bloon.
The only issue with Path 2 cross path is that players will not have access to Camo detection on the base attack of The Anti-Bloon.
This isn’t usually an issue as players can place a Monkey Village with Radar Scanner (-/2/-) or even a Hero like Etienne.
Players will only want to cross path with Path 3 if they have no other way to provide the Camo detection as Camo detection is going to be highly important in later rounds.
Unfortunately a Path 3 cross path is going to greatly reduce the amount of damage The Anti-Bloon would be able to do otherwise do.
PATH 3 TIER-5 SUPER MONKEY – LEGEND OF THE NIGHT
The Legend of the Night was the first type of Super Monkey I ever fully upgraded to and was by far one of my favourite ones to always place and still is.
The Legend of the Night not only deals with MOAB-class bloons extremely well, but it will also have a passive ability that will destroy all bloons on the track of any bloon leaks, including BADs.
Players will be protected for 7.5 seconds, absorbing any bloons that cross the newly spawned Black Hole, however after the Black Hole is closed it will have a 2 minute cooldown.
The Legend of the Night attacks every 0.03 seconds, dealing 5 damage to standard bloons and 9 damage to MOAB-class bloons per shot.
Each dart that the Legend of the Night throws will have 22 pierce and will be able to knockback bloons.
MOAB-class bloons will become 30% slower and Lead Bloons and Ceramic Bloons will move back by 25%
Players who are struggling with MOAB-class bloons should focus on placing the Legend of the Night as due to it’s extremely rapid fire it should be able to obliterate strong bloons including DDTs and if given enough time BADs singlehandedly.
Players should always make sure that the Legend of the Night is set to “Strong” targeting to ensure that it always attacks MOAB-class bloons.
CONCLUSION
When it comes to choosing a Super Monkey to place, players will want to anticipate how much cash they are probably going to get on that map.
If players are looking for overall damage, they should upgrade to a Path 1 True Sun God or Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey if they have the proper Monkey Knowledge.
It’s unquestionable that Path 1 is the strongest type of Tower players can place in all of BTD6, though it does come at the risk of allowing bloons to leak immediately after upgrading as it will sacrifice all Towers in the Sun Avatar’s range.
If players are looking for lower tier-support and simply want the most range and ability to obliterate smaller bloons, they should look into placing a Path 2 The Anti-Bloon as it will shoot with two hands and will essentially demolish all bloons in it’s area with it’s special ability.
Now, if players aren’t looking for much lower-tier support but need to deal a high amount of damage to MOAB-class bloons they should always rely on Path 3 Legend of the Night.
These by far deal the most damage focussed to MOAB-class bloons.
Truthfully there are some times where I will place two Path 3 Super Monkeys to completely obliterate MOAB-class bloons.
So, I’m curious, what’s your favourite Super Monkey?
Do you only focus on paying for a Path 1 Super Monkey or are you a Path 3 fan like I am?
Have you ever unleashed the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey?
Do you prefer a Path 2 Anti-Bloon because of it’s budget?
