One of the newest stats that has been introduced in Trove is the Light stat.
While at first players may be confused as to what Light is and thus would simply ignore this stat because it does not seem to be a stat that controls damage, players will be happy to note that the Light stat is one of the most important stats players can collect in the end game of Trove.
While admittedly the Light stat does not add to the damage that players deal to mobs, it does reduce the effect of Darkness that mobs have, essentially allowing the player to deal more damage to mobs with the Darkness stat.
WHAT IS DARKNESS?
Darkness is a stat that all mobs in the Geode Topside have.
Effectively, Darkness causes mobs to take less damage, meaning that weapons like Stellar gear will deal reduced damage to mobs in the Geode Topside due to the little amount of Light players will be able to obtain outside of Crystal gear.
Players can technically collect enough Light by using Gems, though this isn’t always the best choice simply due to how many upgrades players will have to make to the Gems, essentially having to waste a good amount of Gem dust on Radiant Gems as players will only be able to collect Stellar Gems from U-10.
Think of Darkness as Armour and Light as Armour Penetration.
HOW DO YOU GET LIGHT?
Light can be obtained in a number of ways including Crystal Gear, Gems, Allies and Banners.
Players will be able to craft all three of these resources in order to speed up the process in which they are able to collect light, however the best gear will be obtained by completing Delves, Leviathan and simply grinding out the top tier Geode Topside.
WHAT DO YOU GET FROM THE GEODE TOPSIDE?
Depending on what Geode Topside players are participating in, players will be able to collect different forms of gear.
There are 3 versions of the Geode Topside including Uber-8, Uber-9 and Uber-10.
The following is all the basic information players will need to know about each.
GEODE TOPSIDE UBER-8
The Geode Topside Uber-8 requires 5,000 Power Rank to enter.
The drops players can receive in the Geode Topside Uber-8 include

WHAT ARE THE BEST SOURCES OF LIGHT?
As mentioned players are able to collect Light in a number of ways including Gems, Gear, Allies, Banners and Food.
Early game players may find it a bit difficult to collect points into Light, though there are some quick crafting recipes players can access early on to at least get them to Uber-8.
GEAR
The quickest way players are going to be able to collect light stats is by obtaining Crystal Gear.
Crystal Gear is extremely easy to come across in Uber-8 and above, though unfortunately unlike other forms of Gear, players will not be able to upgrade a piece of Crystal Gear beyond the tier that it currently is.
What does that mean exactly? If a player obtains a Crystal 1 Weapon, they can only upgrade it to Crystal 1 with 5 stars and will not be able to raise it to Crystal 2.
While this can be frustrating, players of all levels will be able to obtain Crystal 4 Gear if they grind out delves that are higher than 115.
In most cases if players are unable to obtain Crystal 4 Gear immediately, they are recommended to use Pearls of Wisdom using the Enchanted Forge in order to obtain enough Light to continue progressing in the Uber worlds.
Pearls of Wisdom are fairly common and are more affordable than properly upgrading your Gear, though I will admit that I have a full set of Crystal 2 – 5 star Gear, simply because I have been unlucky with my RNG and have still to obtain Crystal 3 or Crystal 4 Gear. Gross.
The following are the stats that each of the Crystal Items will always have:

GEMS
If players are looking for more Light and can farm out Gems they should look into grinding Uber-10 for Stellar Cosmic Gems.
Cosmic Gems are the only Gems that will provide the Light stat and when upgraded will provide players with a couple hundred Light.
When it comes from getting from Uber-9 to Uber-10, most players will have to upgrade a good number of their Gems in order to get enough Light to get through as this is going to be the biggest part of the grind.
As one would assume, Stellar Gems will be able to provide players with a lot more Light than Radiant Gems, making the jump to Uber-10 that much more important.
ALLIES
When it comes to Allies, players actually have a big variety to choose from. Many of Allies can be crafted in the Delve Workbench which is located in the West of the hub.
The following are all of the Delve Allies that can be crafted for Light:
HOOKSNOUT
The Hooksnout is by far the easiest Ally players can craft to gain Light.
As the Hooksnout is the cheapest Ally to craft, players will not receive a significant amount of stats, though admittedly players will want to craft this Ally to ensure that they collect the 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery gained from crafting it.
The Hooksnout provides newer players with a good amount of health as they damage enemies, acting as a piece of “lifesteal” and allowing them to sustain themselves in easier dungeons.
I wouldn’t use this ally if you are a mid-to-late game player, though I would make sure you craft it early on if you do not have more resources or are simply trailing in the lesser Uber worlds.

MAPPHEW
The Mapphew is actually an ally you can currently get for free by using a code.
It is more focussed on helping a player deal some extra damage in the early game and is just as cheap as the Hooksnout.
Players will also receive 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery for crafting the Mapphew and should always make sure they craft it simply because of the buffs they will gain for having Mastery.

WEE HIVE
The Wee Hive is actually an ally I avoid crafting, though admittedly for the price it is that much better than the Hooksnout, so realistically I would recommend this over the previous.
The Wee Hive has a bit more expensive of a crafting recipe as the Allies above though as mentioned it does give better stats.
Jump can be useful for getting into dungeons and the health you receive for attacking enemies, especially on a fast character is definitely worth it.
As is with other Allies, the Wee Hive will provide players with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it worth crafting even if players are not planning on using it.

FLOWER GUARD
The Flower Guard is the same price as the Wee Hive though instead of being a defensive ally it is more focussed on helping players deal a bit more damage than the previous allies.
Flower Guards are my favourite early game Ally players can craft especially if they are on the Shadow Hunter as they provide a pretty decent amount of stats for players to continue progressing.
As is with the above allies, the Flower Guard will provide players with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery, meaning that late-game players will also benefit from using crafting these lovelies.

HONEYGUARD
The Honeyguard is another defensive Ally players can craft when they are just getting started into the Light grind.
In my opinion, the Honeyguard isn’t a top choice for me early on as I would prefer to have Jump over Movement Speed, though if players want to run a bit faster in the Overworld there is no reason why they should avoid the Honeyguard.
As is with all allies above, crafting the Honeyguard will provide a player with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it a good Ally to craft even for the simply buff in Mastery.

HANDSOME HAROLD
The Handsome Harold is a good choice for players who are thinking about becoming Tanks as it is the first Ally of this tier that will provide damage reduction to damaged players.
The Handsome Harold is better for characters that requite a good amount of Energy to deal damage or rely on Energy to complete their duties as a Tank.
Due to the amount of Energy Regen and the fact that the Handsome Herald reduces incoming damage, it can be used successfully on a melee class character that focusses on damage, especially if they use their abilities a lot.
As is with all allies above, crafting the Handsome Harold will provide a player with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it a good Ally to craft even for the simply buff in Mastery.

DEATHWEAVER RECLUSE
The Deathweaver Recluse is similar to the Handsome Harold, though instead of focussing on ensuring that a player takes less damage and has more energy, it focusses on making sure that the player has more health and health regen.
The Deathweaver Recluse is the better option, in my opinion, when it comes to tanking as it will help ensure that players are able to survive and can take more damage for their team rather than wipe.
As is with all allies above, crafting the Deathweaver Recluse will provide a player with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it a good Ally to craft even for the simply buff in Mastery.

PELEOPE SKELEPONE III
The Peleope Skelepone III is an interesting Ally to have as it will help players deal more damage and will allow them to escape faster as well as being able to heal a bit when enemies die.
The Peleope Skelepone III is best for players who are on melee characters so they can zip around regularly instead of risking death from completing combat up close.
I would recommend this bad boy for characters such as the Neon Ninja simply because of the stats provided.
As is with all allies above, crafting the Peleope Skelepone III will provide a player with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it a good Ally to craft even for the simply buff in Mastery.

FLICK
Flick is a great starter Ally for players dealing rapid physical damage and while it does not provide players with any defensive stats, it does provide players with a good amount of cooldown reduction and percentage physical damage.
Flick is great for players using characters like the Boomeranger and Shadow Hunter, essentially being the better choice for ranged classes.
As is with all allies above, crafting Flick will provide a player with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it a good Ally to craft even for the simply buff in Mastery.

SHELLDON
The Shelldon ally, in my opinion, is a less useful Ally to have as many of the magic characters are not close range.
I would personally only use this Ally on characters such as the Dracolyte as it is the closest range character.
Sheldon acts very similar to Peleope Skelepone III though is the Magic Damage version.
As is with all allies above, crafting the Shelldon will provide a player with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it a good Ally to craft even for the simply buff in Mastery.

SKYVER
Shyver is a great choice for Magic classes that require cooldown on their abilities.
Although stat increases aren’t the most drastic, Skyver is a great start for players who are on Tomb Raiser, Fae Trickster or even Pirate Captain in order to make the most of your abilities.
As is with all allies above, crafting the Skyver will provide a player with 10 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery making it a good Ally to craft even for the simply buff in Mastery.

TOXIC SPORELING
The Toxic Sporeling is the first Ally from the next tier of allies, being significantly stronger than the previous tier.
The Toxic Sporeling will not only provide players with some more Light, but will also provide players with added sub stats, though it’s passive remains similar to that of tier 1.
Unlike the Allies above, the Toxic Sporeling will provide 20 Geode Mastery and 10 regular Mastery, significantly increasing the amount of Mastery players are able to receive for crafting Allies.
If this tier is available, I strongly recommend starting here.
The Toxic Sporeling is good for any class, however, it does not really impact the amount of damage players are going to do other than the Light it provides.

THRINKY
Similarly, Thrinky is a better ally than those above, though the main focus of Thrinky is to help players gain a bit of Light and movement speed.
Thrinky is optimal for mid-tier melee characters who are finding it difficult to avoid the damage caused by mobs in close range as players can escape more easily and will be able to heal every time they damage an enemy.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft Thrinky.

TOXIE ROXIE
Toxie Roxie is the first ally that is focussed on dealing more damage of this tier.
Luckily the damage that Toxie Roxie provides is fairly generic, being that it does not provide any magic damage or physical damage and instead focusses on Critical Hit and Critical Damage.
The lovely thing about Toxie Roxie is that it also provides Magic Find, making finding Crystal Gear a lot easier in the higher Uber worlds.
Toxie Roxie is a bit of a budget kind of Ally as it can be placed on almost all classes in order to provide them with more damage, though again you would only want to choose her if you are unable to craft an ally that is more powerful.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft Toxie Roxie.

POTTED FLOWERPLANT
The Potted Flowerplant is another Tank focussed Ally, focussing on providing players with some Light, Energy Regen and the ability to take 10% less incoming damage.
The Potted Flowerplant works really well for the Revenant and Candy Barbarian, however, if players are noticing that they are taking too much damage and simply want to place it on a class to ensure that they do not die as often, that’s pretty acceptable.
I strongly recommend only choosing the Potted Flowerplant if you are also running out of Energy when making their way around the world as the bonus Energy Regen is one of the main focusses of this Ally.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft Potted Flowerplant.

EYESPY
If players are specifically looking for more health for their tank they can look no further than eyeSpy as it will both increase a player’s Maximum Health and Health Regen but will also reduce the cooldown of all abilities.
eyeSpy is great for those tanks who do not consume too much Energy and in my opinion is stronger than the Potted Flowerplant.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft eyeSpy.

AEMPPIE
Aemppie begins the very niche damage dealing allies and is perfect for classes that is close range and melee.
Aemppie provides players with Physical Damage but will also provide a player with some health whenever a nearby enemy dies.
Admittedly players can use Aemppie on any physical damage class, though Aemppie works the best on a melee class with short cooldowns that simply needs some extra damage, movement speed and health.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft Aemppie.

PLUCKY
Plucky is the alternative to Aemppie and provides players with similar stats, though unlike Aemppie, players will be able to launch their abilities 10% times faster, making this great for long range physical characters such as the Shadow Hunter.
I would strongly recommend getting Plucky if players are good at kiting enemies or staying far back as it tends to be stronger simply because of the extra times a player will be able to launch their ultimate.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft Plucky.

Skitters is great for players Magic Damage players who are close range and near more health.
The decision to use Skitters will simply be on whether a player needs ability cooldowns, making it optimal for classes like the Tombraiser as the Tombraiser already has fairly low cooldown times.
Players will benefit from using Skitters over the alternatives as it will provide players with Health and Movement Speed whenever nearby enemies die.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft Skitters.

QUELL
Quell is my preferred Ally of this tier, simply because I main magic classes that need a good amount of cooldown on their abilities to become the most powerful.
Quell provides players with a substantial increase on Magic Damage, though it does not provide players with any health stats, meaning that players should be able to stand far back from mobs in order to stay alive.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 20 Geode Mastery and 20 regular Mastery whenever they craft Quell.

RAINBOW SLAYER CAKE
The Rainbow Slayer Cake brings on the next tier of Allies and provides players with the ability to reach another tier of Light as well as stats.
This is also the first tier that players can acquire in order to make the Ally’s passive abilities stronger.
All Ally’s beyond this point are by far the strongest Ally’s that provide Light and players should definitely focus on these in order to get the most Light stats that they can.
Specifically the Rainbow Slayer Cake will provide players with some health every time they damage enemies and will give them the basic stat of Jump making it ideal for most classes, though not the most powerful.
Unlike to the previous Ally, players will receive 50 Geode Mastery and 50 regular Mastery whenever they craft the Rainbow Slayer Cake.

The LIl’ Whiptop is ideal for those looking simply for some movement speed to run around to avoid damage and will gain health every time they damage an enemy.
I strongly recommend the Lil’ Whiptop if you are a Melee player who is struggling with their health as otherwise this Ally isn’t the strongest choice for you.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 50 Geode Mastery and 50 regular Mastery whenever they craft Lil’ Whiptop.

SHERBIE
Sherbie is one of the more generic kind of Ally players can place on all of their classes as it does not provide players with a specific Magic or Physical Damage buff, but instead will simply focus on Critical Hit and Critical Damage.
The lovely thing about Sherbie is that it is great for players looking for a bit of Magic Find in the Overworld in order to collect more Crystal Gear, especially in Uber 10 or the delves.
If you’re only able to grind out a single ally of this tier, I strongly recommend using this one simply because it covers most of a player’s necessities without being specific to a particular type of class.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 50 Geode Mastery and 50 regular Mastery whenever they craft Sherbie.

Lil’ Sprinkles is going to be your top choice for Tanks who need to consume Energy regularly in order to deal damage.

Abracadabrus is best for classes that need to use abilities regularly to taunt enemies or simply kill enemies in dungeons.

Not only will the Animate Jug deal more physical damage, but they will provide a players with some bonus movement speed in order to dodge enemies in order to take less damage.
I would strongly recommend this Ally for classes like the Neon Ninja.

Jingles provides a healthy amount of Physical Damage and a massive amount of cooldown reduction to ensure that players are able to get the most damage out as possible.

Players will essentially want to use Aevyr religiously on the Tomb Raiser as doing so will provide them with 15% health every time an enemy dies as well as increased movement speed.
I strongly recommend using this on close range Magic classes or if you’re having difficulty surviving in the Overworld.
Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 50 Geode Mastery and 50 regular Mastery whenever they craft Aevyr.

Not only does Puck provide an ample amount of Magic Damage, but it also provides players with a substantial amount of cooldown reduction on abilities.
Puck is the best for Magic classes that can attack from afar as it does not provide a bonus of health, essentially making it so players will just be able to focus on damage.

Similar to the previous Ally, players will receive 50 Geode Mastery and 50 regular Mastery whenever unlock Ol’ Wobbles.

BANNERS
Banners can be crafted using the Delve Workbench, though I would strongly recommend avoiding these banners as they do not provide a player with many stats and instead players should try to assassinate a Leviathan in order to acquire all the Light that they need.
I will go more into this section soon.
FOOD
Food can be gathered while farming in the Delves. I will update this section shortly in order to cover all of the food.
GEODE MASTERY
Although Geode Mastery can feel pretty useless to farm, nothing could be further from the truth.
The reality is that for every Geode Mastery level players acquire, players will receive an extra 10 permanent Light. While this might not seem like a lot of light, players will be able to gain a total of 1,000 Light by the end of grinding their Geode Mastery to maximum.
For players this means that they should be able to get the majority of their sub classes into Uber 10 fairly easily as players can transfer resources such as Crystal Gear, Allies, Banners and Food from class to class, making Geode Mastery one of the most essential ways to collect Light.
For players to get more Geode Mastery, they will have to spend a significant amount of time in the Geode Delves in order to unlock all the Geode and Delve recipes possible to obtain.
