With some of the newest Housing Updates came the addition of inviting Companions into your home and while a very cute idea, the reality is that this whole new system can be confusing for players, especially when they first look at it.
Placing Companions may seem like a waste of space at first, but the reality is that Companions are going to be a big focus for players to help level up their characters and receive some extra loot on the side.
HOW DO YOU PLACE COMPANIONS?
Upon entering your Serenity Pot players will notice a new category of items to place when in their placement view (ie. F7 on PC).
Players will only have access to Companions correlated to their characters they have unlocked, so if you only have access to the free characters, these will be the only ones you see, making Wishing on every banner much more important due to the vast amount of resources Companions will be able to provide players if done correctly.
Essentially companions can be placed in any room or Island that a player finds suitable for them and their placement will not impede or affect a player, though it should be kept in mind that players may want to speak to a companion every so often to unlock new conversations due to the Achievements players will be able to unlock.
I personally choose to place my Companions on the first Island so I don’t have to travel far to have conversations with them, either placing them outside of my main home or in one of the rooms that has enough space for them.
That being said, it should be noted that a Companion will add towards your placing limit, so make sure that if you have a good amount of items in a room that you still have place for your Companion, especially if you are dealing with larger sets.
As mentioned, the reality is that it does not matter where a Companion is placed, so as I cover more about Companions the reason why I’ll keep hammering this idea into your head will make sense.
WHAT COMPANIONS SHOULD I CHOOSE TO PLACE?
While the ideal Companion to place is going to highly depend on what a player is trying to achieve, the reality is that it doesn’t really matter who you place into your home as long as you are not full in Companionship with a character.
The Companion option is essentially going to be a passive way for players to get their Companionship rank up with Characters without having to take them into Domains or complete any timed challenges or what not with them.
As a player’s Serenity Pot Comfort Level ranks up, players will essentially be able to provide their Companions with higher amounts of Companionship per hour, much like receiving the special currency in their Serenitea Pot.
I personally like to keep newer characters I’m going to use in battle into my Serenitea Pot, excluding those I am currently adventuring with as they will gain a good amount of Companionship simply from my dailies and the regular grind of the game.
Now, this isn’t to say that players should be deterred from placing in characters with a fairly high amount of Companionship as this can still prove to be very helpful for those grinding out the final level or who want to rotate a character out so they don’t waste “exploration experience” on a character who is currently capped out. To give a personal example, my Razor is currently Level 9 Companionship and is Level 80 (and cannot be ascended), so he is currently chilling in my home until I choose to bring him back out to battle as he will not be gaining any companionship in other ways.
Now, you may also want to change your Companions around based on the next bit of information I’m going to give you.
HOW MUCH COMPANIONSHIP DO YOU GET FOR PLACED COMPANIONS?
As mentioned, a player will receive extra Companionship depending on on how much Adeptal Energy a player has in a realm.
Much like Realm Currency, a player will receive the rewards from the area that has the highest Adepetal Energy, so players can essentially keep one world very messy just to get the highest boost and keep the other realms to decorate properly until they can return to that messy world to clean it up.
Players will be able to collect the same amount of Companionship per character no matter what their Level or current Companionship with that character, it just requires that character to be out during the hour.
The following are the rates that a player will be able to collect Companionship based on Comfort Level:

FURNITURE SETS BASED ON COMPANIONS
One of the biggest additions to the game with the Companionship update is going to be the Furniture Sets players have access to.
These sets seem to be much larger than the Furniture Sets we saw before, but are going to be a player’s main focus moving forward as they both provide players with a higher comfort rating than previous furniture sets and they will also allow players to access rewards for their Companions that they cannot receive in other ways.
Companion furniture sets, in my opinion, should be a player’s main focus to acquire with the Realm Currency due to the higher rewards that a player can obtain, though they do take longer meaning that if a player is trying to grind out their World’s comfort as fast as possible, this is probably not going to be your main priority at first.
Unfortunately, the reality is that a Companion’s Furniture Set is quite pricy, sitting at the high price of 240 Real Currency and quite frankly being a bit frustrating for those players who just finished crafting all of their items in hopes of buying Materials such as Level Up materials, Mora or even Transient Resin exclusively. For players like me, you’re going to want to put these dreams aside for a little bit longer as the Companion’s Furniture Set are going to be more important.
Companion’s Furniture Sets come in two different types, one being Furniture that is exclusively placed indoors and Furniture that is exclusively placed outdoors.
Red Furniture Sets can be placed indoors while Blue Furniture Sets will be placed outdoors.
While the choice is yours on which to purchase, players will want to ensure that they are buying sets with the Companions that they have, specifically ones that have multiple characters players have.
That being said, there seems to be a bit of overlap with Furniture Sets, not only with items that players can place, but also with the characters that are interested in the Furniture sets you place.
GIFT REWARDS FOR PLACING A COMPANION’S FAVOURITE FURNITURE SET
Whenever you place a Furniture Set that is related to a specific character players will receive a modest amount of loot that players can use to progress their characters and obtain more Wishes or level up materials.
Upon placing a Favourite Furniture Set every companion a player has placed in the world that are associated with that Furniture Set will come visit the Furniture Set and tell you just how much they love it, no matter where they are placed in the world.
The only requirement for this is that the Companion is placed in a player’s world somewhere, requiring players to rotate their companions every so often to ensure that they get all the rewards that are available to them.
Now, rewards will vary depending on what Furniture Set a player decides to place, meaning that a player may want to prioritize which sets they place depending on the items that they need, though realistically as this is a one time Gift, the order shouldn’t matter a whole lot as players are essentially guaranteed this gift sooner or later.
Players will want to make sure that they either have their furniture set up for long enough to get their 3 or 4 character’s rewards per set, though do not hesitate to rotate out furniture sets in order to get all the rewards as taking a way a furniture set does not have a negative impact on players, meaning that a player can freely take items from one set and place the in another to simply get the wards with until they have enough of the items for the other sets.
As mentioned earlier the different types of rewards players will collect from Furniture Sets will depend on what kind of Furniture Set players place. Characters will be able to collect a single Gift per each set that they place, meaning that a single character can collect multiple rewards as long as the set is unique and hasn’t been claimed before.
Due to this, players may want to choose what sets they purchase to co-inside with other sets in order to complete all of a character’s favourite furniture settings before moving on.
Players should note that they can place these sets in different worlds if they do not have enough items to supply a single world, meaning that a player can attempt to speed up the progress of their Gifts as early as they want due to the repeated materials.
The following are the rewards players will receive for the two types of Furniture Sets:
REWARDS FOR INDOOR SETS
Indoor Furniture Sets will provide players with the following rewards:
20 Primogems
20,000 Mora
2 Fragments associated with the character’s Ascension materials.
REWARDS FOR OUTDOOR SETS
Outdoor Furniture Sets will provide players with the following rewards:
20 Primogems
20,000 Mora
2 Guides associated with the character’s Talent level up.
