I recently got back into Trove and realized that there are actually a number of new crafting items that have been added into the game.
One of the more rare crafting items I have gotten my hands on is the Chaos Core, which at first looks a bit odd, but really makes sense when you take a look at where you find them and what they are used for.
Chaos Cores are seemingly rare, though late game players who have collected the majority of the glamours, especially those that are not tradable will have an easier time collecting them as they will receive a number of duplicate objects they can break down, which I will cover shortly.
Chaos Cores aren’t the most essential items to have, however, they are a great way to gain a number of collectables you would usually have to pay real money for.
CAN YOU TRADE CHAOS CORES?
No, Chaos Cores are not a tradable item and are bound to a player’s account.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that Chaos Cores are bound to a player’s account this means that players will not be able to sell them on the market board or provide less advanced players with these rewards.
HOW DO YOU GET CHAOS CORES?
Chaos Cores can be provided in a number of ways. The most common ways players can grind these is from the following:
š Chaos Chests
š Breaking down exclusive Chaotic Collectables (such as Mounts or Wings)
š Opening Boons, which are event exclusive daily rewards
The best way to collect Chaos Cores is to open as many Chaos Chests as they can as this getting as many Chaotic Collectables will be the fastest way to get these Chaos Cores.
If players are not worried about collecting Mastery and are simply focussing on collecting other collectables through crafting, they should focus on breaking down their loot.
The same should be said if players are debating whether or not to sell an item on the Market Board, though I strongly recommend checking the Market Board before breaking down an item as you may miss out on a good amount of loot.
Speaking about the Market Board, there are a number of items players can purchase on the Market Board in order to speed up the process of collecting Chaos Cores.
Unfortunately, many of these items will cost a few thousand Flux, essentially meaning that it may not be worth it for players to collect them, though the choice is obviously up to you.
HOW DO I CRAFT A CHAOS CORE CRAFTER?
In order to craft a Chaos Core Crafter players must have a Novice Crafting Bench and trade in 100 Flux.
While Flux is an extremely useful resource to hoard, especially as it can be used on the Market Board, the cost of 100 is fairly reasonable, so it shouldn’t be that big of a spend for players.
Realistically Chaos Core Crafters are too big of a benefit to be pinching Flux pennies with.
WHAT & HOW CAN I CRAFT USING THE CHAOS CORE?
When it comes to crafting using a Chaos Core players will have to head to a Shadow Tower or will need to be part of a Club World that already has a Chaos Core Crafter built.
Unfortunately, Chaos Core Crafters are the only way a player will be able to use this resource.
The following are all of the things a player can craft when using a Chaos Core Crafter:
STARTER CLASSES
The Starter Classes tier of recipes features that first 5 classes that were available in Trove.
Recipes are fairly cost effective and are much cheaper than spending real life cash on these characters, though players will be able to spend Cubits on characters instead of on a starter class.
Realistically, there are a number of ways players can collect these cheap classes, including Class Coins and Starter Class Coins, one of which you can get for free by using my refer a friend code.
My main reasoning for not using Chaos Cores on the starter classes is because Chaos Cores aren’t the most accessible for newer players who are going to be the main targets for these crafts.
CANDY BARBARIAN
The Candy Barbarian is a melee class that is fairly tanky.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
20 Wild Cupcakes
25 Glacial Shards
BOOMERANGER
The Boomeranger is both a melee class and a ranged class that is focussed on damage dealing.
Players will have to make the choice of which play style they would prefer by selecting a weapon that corresponds to how they would like to play.
When adventuring both Bows and Swords will drop from dungeons.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
10 Primordial Flame
1 Golden Soul
TOMBRAISER
The Tombraiser is the only minion wielding class and will provide newer players with enough damage and defences to deal with lower tier dungeons.
The one downfall, which isn’t really a downfall, of the Tombraiser is that it personally deals melee damage and requires players to stand close to mobs in order to damage them.
This is just something to be aware of when starting out with the class.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
3 Blank Scrolls
10 Bleached Bones
KNIGHT
The Knight is the typical starter class for most players as it does not have any difficult or weird mechanics.
The Knight is a Melee Class that can either be used for tanking or for damage, depending on how the player builds it.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
80 Mushroom Chunk
20 Enchanted Wood
GUNSLINGER
The Gunslinger is one of the funnest classes a player can use as it is a ranged class that deals fairly rapid damage and can stay up in the air while it attacks.
Though flying makes it so your energy does not regenerate, a player may be able to get away with jumping up high and just damaging mobs with the Gunslinger’s auto attacks in order to complete a dungeon.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
30 Bottles
10 Bleached Bones
BASIC CLASSES
Basic Classes feature those with a bit more difficulty to play.
The Basic Classes are a bit more intricate to play than the Starter Classes, though they aren’t very difficult to learn.
The following are the Basic Classes players can craft using a Chaos Core Crafter:
PIRATE CAPTAIN
The Pirate Captain is one of two turret based class players can unlock and play in Trove.
Though it may seem like the Pirate Captain is very similar to the Tombraiser, nothing could be further from the truth as the Pirate Captain’s turrets are stationary and will not be able to move if mobs are running around.
A player will need to micromanage their turrets by placing them anytime a boss moves around in order to deal the most damage, though due to the fact that the Pirate Captain does not have many abilities that require a great deal of energy, this should not be a problem.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
200 Golden Seashells
1 Ancient Scale
LUNAR LANCER
The Lunar Lancer is considered to be the assassin class of Trove and features a good amount of heavy hitting with an ability that deals AoE damage over time.
The Lunar Lancer is one of the strongest characters to play, especially if it has a good amount of physical damage and attack speed.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
100 Radiant Shards
8 Faerie Dust
DRACOLYTE
The Dracolyte was actually my first class and is a Magic Class that deals fire damage and will be able the transform into a dragon as well as hatch spawnlings.
Technically the Dracolyte is also a minion class, though it’s main focus is dealing damage while using it’s main body instead of dealing damage mostly using minions.
CRAFTING RECIPE
1 Chaos Core
1,000 Flux
10 Primordial Flame
10 Bleached Bones
ADVANCED CLASSES
The Advanced Classes are tricker classes to get a hang of, though they are some of the damage heavy classes.
Unfortunately the Advanced Classes tend to cost the most as they will cost 3 Chaos Cores each, so if you can unlock these in any other ways, that’s a good choice.
Not only will the Advanced Classes cost more Chaos Cores, but they will also cost a lot more of the resources required, making them a lesser priority for players to unlock using a Chaos Core Crafter.
CHLOROMANCER
The Chloromancer is actually my main class and is another turret based classes.
Players will have access to both damage dealing turrets, which are flowers with propellers and healing turrets, which are flowers that grow over time providing healing and will deal some extra damage when exploding.
In my opinion, the Chloromancer is the best class, especially because it provides players with everything that they could ever need, though it does not crank out the most damage to make it a class that is always in need.
I strongly recommend trying out the Chloromancer when you’re trying to learn the game, specifically because of the amount of diversity in it’s attacks, though I understand if it’s not your play style… trust me… I’ve heard it all!
CRAFTING RECIPE
3 Chaos Cores
15,000 Flux
1,200 Sunlight Bulbs
750 Mushroom Chunks
175 Enchanted Wood
REVENANT
The Revenant is one of the strongest tank characters players can use as not only does it have some of the highest damage in the game, a lot of it’s passives gear towards being able to agro bosses and mobs in order to help out other players in dungeons.
The Revenant used to be one of my favourite classes to play until I found my love for the Chloromancer and will never be a character players don’t need as there is always use for a tank in dungeons.
CRAFTING RECIPE
3 Chaos Cores
15,000 Flux
200 Bleached Bones
20 Somber Souls
150 Wild Cupcakes
SHADOW HUNTER
The Shadow Hunter is by far the best class in the game, especially with the addition of Class Gems as it can deal the fastest amount of damage and if provided with enough physical damage, critical hit and critical damage or even attack speed it can deal the most damage in all of Trove.
The Shadow Hunter is perfect for soloing content and is most useful for rampages and shadow towers.
Being a Shadow Hunter is a blessing and a curse, especially since they are always in need, but there are going to be a number of players out there two are already playing the Shadow Hunter, making it so the chances of you being picked can be fairly slim.
Even if you don’t choose to main the Shadow Hunter, it’s never a bad idea to unlock it and get a class gem key as it is always a useful character to have on hand.
I personally always choose to make my Shadow Hunter my second top class because of the way it lets me cheese dungeons.
CRAFTING RECIPE
3 Chaos Cores
15,000 Flux
2,000 Radiant Shards
20 Somber Souls
1,500 Crystallized Clouds
NEON NINJA
The Neon Ninja is a quick sword wielding class that can deal rapid amounts of damage, though is fairly squishy, being it’s main downfall as it will commonly get into the path of damage.
The Neon Ninja is quick and can use its abilities to dodge being hit, making this a fairly easy class to get into early on.
CRAFTING RECIPE
3 Chaos Core
15,000 Flux
500 Robotic Salvage
150 Diamonds
10 Golden Souls
ICE SAGE
The Ice Sage is an interesting class to play as it comes with a good amount of AoE damage and can help support a team, though realistically when it comes to soloing content this class is a bit too slow on the damage.
Ideally players would use an Ice Sage when there are other players around.
CRAFTING RECIPE
3 Chaos Cores
15,000 Flux
500 Glacial Shards
30 Blank Scrolls
350 Bottles
FAE TRICKSTER
The Fae Trickster is another support kind of class, though it features placing decoys to help protect players.
The Fae Trickster will deal a good amount of damage, especially in comparison to the Ice Sage, though similarly it does not deal rapid damage, making it a less ideal character to play when soloing content.
CRAFTING RECIPE
3 Chaos Core
15,000 Flux
200 Faerie Dust
30 Blank Scrolls
100 Diamonds
DINO TAMER
The Dino Tamer is one of the newest classes that is quite fun to play as not only will you be able to summon dinosaurs, you’ll also be able to mount them in order to travel faster and attack harder.
The Dino Tamer is a great damage dealer, though it comes with a few flaws, one being that its snare sometimes doesn’t work.
If you’re looking for something to burst down enemies though, go for the Dino Tamer because nothing is more fun than it’s ultimate.
CRAFTING RECIPE
3 Chaos Cores
15,000 Flux
50 Meteorite Fragments
500 Sticky Ichor
100 Bleached Bones
COLLECTIBLES
The collectibles tab features a wide amount of mounts that players can use to get around the Overworld.
In many cases players will be able to collect these mounts by opening up Chaos Chests on the weeks that the mounts are featured as the featured piece of loot for the week.
if players are not interested in waiting for the Chaos Chest to have one of these rewards or are simply grinding for mastery or grinding to fill out their cosmetics they can easily craft these.
It should be heavily noted that some of these collectibles are actually free for players if they use codes, though obviously codes may no longer be available as time goes on, so if you’re reading this now, head to that post to secure your freebies before they expire.
Similar to the classes above, Collectibles cost a good amount of Chaos Cores and while they are useful for powering up your Mastery, they are not my first choice for crafting simply because of the multiple ways players can collect them, including the Market Board.
I will say, there are a number of fairly cheap crafts that players will want to prioritize when it comes to quickly getting mastery. I will cover which ones these are in case players are in need.
The following are all of the collectibles players will be able to collect when standing near the Chaos Core Crafter.
POLAR CATTERKILLER
The Pollar Caterkiller is a mount that looks similar to the Polar Worm Permafrost enemy that is only located in the Permafrost Biome.
For players who don’t know what I am talking about, it is a purple looking caterpiller.
Unlocking the Polar Caterkiller will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Polar Caterkiller and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
500 Glacial Shards
CAROM CUPCAKE
The Carom Cupcake is an adorable little mount that players can ride to get around the world.
Players will bounce around on a pink frosted Cupcake that has blue sprinkles and is considered one of the ball type mounts.
The Carom Cupcake closely resembles the Wild Cupcake resource.
Unlocking the Carom Cupcake will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Carom Cupcake and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
700 Wild Cupcakes
SPRINGY DARK SPORELING
The Springy Dark Sporeling is another ball type of mount that players can ride in order to get around the Overworld.
Similar to the mounts above, the Springy Dark Sporeling is a ball type of mount though unlike the others it resembles a cave mushroom and the Dark Mushroom Men.
The Springy Dark Sporeling is purple with green spots.
Unlocking the Springy Dark Sporeling will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Springy Dark Sporeling and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
800 Mushroom Chunk
20 Somber Soul
200 Faerie Dust
BOUNDING GOLDEN BEETLE
The Bounding Golden Beetle is an adorable little mount that resembles the Golden Beetle enemy that is located in the Medieval Highlands biome.
The Bounding Golden Beetle is also a ball mount that allows players to bounce around the world and is one of my favourite mounts of this tier simply because of how adorable the Golden Beetle is.
Unlocking the Bounding Golden Beetle will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Bounding Golden Beetle and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
500 Golden Seasheller
350 Ichor
20 Golden Soul
FAE BOUGHSKIMMER
The Fae Boughskimmer is a mount players can obtain that looks like a hoverboard met a sword or vial or even a rocketship.
The Fae Boughskimmer is hard to describe as there is nothing that it really looks like and due to that I’m not really a huge fan of it.
Unlocking the Fae Boughskimmer will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Fae Boughskimmer and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
8 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
800 Enchanted Wood
300 Faerie Dust
RUNEMASTER’S RECORD
The Runemaster’s Record is an adorable mount players can ride as it features a book with some writing in it.
The Runemaster’s Record is perfect for players who are spell casters or want a mystical vibe to their skin.
The book is admittedly a bit bland, though I can’t deny wanting it on my Chloromancer or Tombraiser simply for their magical vibes.
Unlocking the Runemaster’s Record will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Runemaster’s Record and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Core
30,000 Flux
90 Blank Scrolls
600 Crystalized Cloud
200 Faerie Dust
SHADOWY SARCOPHAGUS
The Shadowy Sarcophagus somewhat hits close to home as it resembles a mummy sarcophagus that is designed to look like it was a part of a Shadow Tower.
The reality is that the Shadowy Sarcophagus is designed to look like a hoverboard and while fairly flat, it does have a bit of texture including the legs of a mummy and the head of a mummy.
The Shadowy Sarcophagus works best on a class that has a dark skin as it is primarily back and gray though it has some details in purple, blue and green that again follow the colour designs of a Shadow Tower.
Unlocking the Shadowy Sarcophagus will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Shadowy Sarcophagus and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
1 Heart of Darkness
20 Somber Souls
40 Meteorite Fragments
SALTWATER TAFFY RAY
The Saltwater Taffy Ray is a mount that is designed to look like a manta ray, though realistically it looks a bit sickly as it is obviously made of taffy.
There are a number of variants of the manta ray, though this one is a mix of green, beige and pink.
Quite frankly, I’m not a huge fan of this design just because of its colour scheme, but it’s still a great mount to unlock for Mastery.
Unlocking the Saltwater Taffy Ray will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Saltwater Taffy Ray and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
350 Wild Cupcake
2 Ancient Scales
400 Golden Seashells
POLAR DRAGON TIGER
The Polar Dragon Tiger is one of my favourite mounts to unlock especially because it’s a dark well designed mount.
The Polar Dragon Tiger is neon blue and black and has the face of a dragon, but the body of a Tiger.
I personally have an affinity to mounts that are darker, especially as they usually match any skin you’re wearing because of their colour pallets.
Unlocking the Polar Dragon Tiger will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Polar Dragon Tiger and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump.
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Core
30,000 Flux
800 Glacial Shards
200 Bleached Bones
400 Steed Feed
DRAGON TIGER
The Dragon Tiger is another glorious mount to unlock that looks quite similar to the Polar Dragon Tiger, however it is orange and red compared to the blue that is on the Polar Dragon Tiger.
The Dragon Tiger is has the exact same body otherwise and has the body of a Tiger and the face of a Dragon.
Unlocking the Dragon Tiger will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Dragon Tiger and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
500 Primordial Flame
250 Bleached Bones
400 Steed Feed
SIR OSCESOMESAUCEALOT
If you’re a cat lover like me, you’re in for an adorable Ocelot based mount that they can ride around their world.
Sir Oscesomesaucealot is spotted and orange similar to an Ocelot in Minecraft.
Unlocking the Sir Oscesomesaucealot will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Sir Oscesomesaucealot and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
30 Golden Soul
500 Steed Feed
OL’ CHOMPER
Ol’ Chomper is quite a scary mount that is based off of a Sabertooth Tiger.
Originally Ol’ Chomper was a mount that was modded by Avairei, but was added into the game.
Ol’ Chomper is dark and appears as a dark purple and light purple sabertooth Tiger.
Unlocking the Ol’ Chomper will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Ol’ Chomper and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Core
30,000
60 Meteorite Fragment
500 Glacial Shard
400 Steed Feed
TREVOR THE TIGER
For players who are fans of Tony the Tiger they can pay homage to him by unlocking Trevor the Tiger.
Though Trevor the Tiger does not necessarily look like Tony, he does share some resemblances, simply being his name and the fact that he is an orange spotted tiger.
Unlocking the Trevor the Tiger will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Trevor the Tiger and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Cores
30,000 Flux
400 Bleached Bone
500 Steed Feed
CRAZY BUSY CATERPILLAR
The Crazy Busy Caterpillar is an insect mount that players can ride around their world in Trove.
The Crazy Busy Caterpillar appears to be dark brown and light brown and is one of the more basic kinds of mounts players can unlock in Trove.
Though basic, it’s a bonus that the Crazy Busy Caterpillar is one of the cheaper choices for mounts players can unlock.
Unlocking the Crazy Busy Caterpillar will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Crazy Busy Caterpillar and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump
CRAFTING RECIPE
6 Chaos Core
30,000 Flux
1,500 Sticky Ichor
MAGIC CARPETAPILLAR
The Magic Carpetapillar is honestly a bit of a weird mount that players can craft.
Essentially players will be riding a rolled up carpet which moves much like a caterpillar or worm, inching it’s way around the world.
The Magic Carpetapillar is purple and has some designs drawn on it’s sides.
Again, the Magic Carpetapillar is at least a fairly cheap mount to purchase for players.
Unlocking the Magic Carpetapillar will provide a player with 50 Mastery and will provide the player with 90 movement speed while riding.
Unfortunately players will not be able to fly when riding the Magic Carpetapiller and will instead switch into Wings if they double jump
