How To Use Elemental Sight | Genshin Impact

Last Updated April 9, 2021 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

When it comes to adventuring in Genshin Impact there are a good amount of missions and quests that require players to use a special trait called Elemental Sight.

Elemental Sight is not an ability that players will require too often, however, due to the fact that the use of Elemental Sight is few and far between it is extremely common for players to forget how to use it and when it is required to use it.

Other than in quests, Elemental Sight will always be used when players seek out Bounties.

WHAT IS ELEMENTAL SIGHT?

Elemental Sight is an ability that players can use when exploring through the Genshin Impact world that allows players to see Elemental Trails.

Elemental Trails can either lead players to resources, mobs or mechanics that the player would otherwise not know the location of or even be able to see the resource itself.

In most cases, players will be made aware if they are required to use elemental sight, however, there are some instances that it is not as clear that a player is to use Elemental Sight such as bounties.

HOW DO I ACTIVATE ELEMENTAL SIGHT?

Elemental Sight works differently on each device, though on all devices Elemental Sight works in the same way.

One PC and Mobile players will see a Elemental Sight symbol at the top left of their screen, depicted with a symbol that looks like an Eye that players can click on in order to create a single pulse of Elemental Sight.

PC players will also be able to cast elemental sight by holding their middle mouse button as long as they are using a mouse and keyboard.

Console players will have to use their Left Bumper or Dpad Left in order to cast Elemental Sight, though this may vary based on the controller players use and what configuration they are using.

A burst of Elemental Sight will last as long as a player is standing still, however, upon moving a player will lose their Elemental Sight requiring the player to re-cast it.

In most cases a player will have to re-cast Elemental Sight a few times before they locate the resource or location that they are going to required to acquire or head to.

Not only will players need to activate Elemental Sight again due to its short activation period, but also because of it’s limited range, often requiring players to venture out of the area in order to actually locate what they need.

CAN YOU USE ELEMENTAL SIGHT ON ANY CHARACTER?

Yes, players will be able to use elemental sight on any character and will not have to change to The Traveler in order to activate it.

WHAT OTHER THINGS CAN ELEMENTAL SIGHT DO?

Elemental Sight can provide players with more information on how they can interact with the world around them as well as information about the nearby mobs.

For example, at any point that a player is curious about the name of a mob they can trigger elemental sight in order to see a name tag above the mob.

Colours a player may see include:

GREY

Signifying objects or characters players can interact with.

Some of these objects include chests, domains, teleporters or even NPCs with quests for timed challenges.

Players will essentially want to activate Elemental Sight to ensure that they do not miss anything, especially when it comes to items or chests that the would have otherwise missed.

ORANGE

Items that can be mined or destroyed will appear in orange, essentially making it so players do not miss any resources.

Players will also use this to locate Hilichurl’s Shields.

GREEN

If an object is Green players will be able to destroy it with fire, smash it, or cause destruction to it in any other way.

Players will also see this on unlit fires or torches.
