It’s no secret that I was planning to fully quit Whiteout Survival a few weeks ago because of how time intensive the game was; and although I uninstalled the game, it took me less than 24-hours to come back to it. Of course, one can argue it was simply because mobile games are hyper addictive, I think the more evident reality is that Whiteout Survival is a truly complicated game that gets my “guide writing gears” turning.
Even after I uninstalled the game, I found myself still trying to research the different elements of the game, since the overall complexity of the game had grabbed my interest.
I must admit, I’m pleasantly shocked with how much intricacy there is in Whiteout Survival and how much a player has to think outside the box if they are hoping to get the most out of the game.
I am also tremendously grateful for the Alliance I am currently in, as many of the players have a fountain of knowledge from playing in multiple States. As much as I pat myself on the back for being able to analyze video games well and come up with strategies to min-max; Whiteout Survival takes it to a whole other level, and I’m often surprised by the way the game is structured.
Though today’s guide isn’t on a topic I was surprised about, I was surprised at how effective it was and how overpowered it can be when you have a fast and communicative team. So let’s get into it and discuss Batch Healing, what it means and how to effectively utilize it.
WHAT IS BATCH HEALING?
Batch Healing in Whiteout Survival refers to the act of healing your Troops in smaller quantities rather than all at once. Though, assigning smaller batches on its own does not reduce the speed of healing, when a player is in an Alliance they can request aide from their Alliance Members to heal faster.
When batch healing is done correctly, players can significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to heal their Troops without the use of Healing Speedups.
WHY SHOULD YOU BATCH HEAL INSTEAD OF USING SPEEDUPS?
As someone who has played alongside a number of players varying in skills, I’ve been asked countless times why I recommend Batch Healing over using speedups. There’s genuinely only one answer for this: Foundry.
Foundry is a PVP event that places an alliance against an alliance in another State. While your Troops can’t die in Foundry Battles and will be immediately healed after the event, if they are damaged during the Foundry Battle itself, you can not request help from your teammates.
The Foundry event typically has a good number of Battles, and since it can be difficult to rally teammates, the number of injured troops a player will have been quite significant.
In my most recent Foundry battle, I had about 12 hours of healing to do within the first 5-minutes of the fight, since the other team targeted me heavily. Without the use of Speedups, I would not have been able to score any points.
It should be noted, Foundry Battles are only available to Alliances that are in the Top 20. So, if you are not in one of these Alliances, you may want to use your Speedups on something else; though I’d advise trying to gain access to Foundry as soon as you can due to the very good rewards.
HOW TO BATCH HEAL
Batch Healing requires a significant number of Alliance Members to be online to be done effectively. For every Alliance member online, consider around 3 minutes of Healing time reduced, so the goal is to have at least 10 members online to heal larger batches.
Since you will need a good number of players online to effectively utilize Batch Healing, it is generally only used during Facility, Fortress, Stronghold, and Sunfire Castle Battles. While this is true, you will also often see it used during Kill Events (KE) or if players are on a server where multiple “Base Hits” are permitted.
Since the main occurrence you will want to use Batch Healing in is during Facility, Fortress, Stronghold and Sunfire Castle Battles, the next part is going to be written from that perspective:
Whether you are defending/garrisoning or rallying, Troops are going to become injured very quickly. If you are rallying, as soon as the rally hits you will see a little Heal Icon displayed in the bottom right of your screen which will immediately take you to your Infirmary. Select this and reduce the number of troop healing down to about 30-minutes to an hour, depending on how many players are currently online in your alliance.
I personally recommend that players heal a single type of Troop at a time. My reasoning for this is because it tends to be a lot easier to navigate since you will need to come in and out of your Infirmary fairly rapidly to help others.
Your batch healing process will look like this: Select Troops, Heal, Press Help, Exit Infirmary, Press Help Icon to Heal Troops, Enter Infirmary, Press Heal, press Help, Exit Infirmary and so on.
If you are not getting heals fast enough, keep reducing how many Troops you are trying to heal. Batch Healing is most effective when you are spending the least time in your Infirmary, as your teammates will be heavily relying on you to assist them as well.
The faster your team does this, the earlier you can re-enter the battle and take over whatever building you are trying to claim.
WHY RAPID HEALING IS SO IMPORTANT
I’m sure most players know this by the time they are looking up how to batch heal, but shockingly, some Top 10 Alliances in my State don’t understand how detrimental quickly healing is.
Though some buildings have a chance of your Troops dying, the main cause of Troop death is an overwhelmed Infirmary.
If your Infirmary ever hits capacity, Troops will immediately die and only a portion can be replaced by using the Enlistment Office. You do not want to let this happen.
I can’t tell you how frustrated I get when players respond with “Well, I think it’s more important to head back into battle and fight than heal your Troops, I can just reenlist them.”
No, you’re dumb.
Not only are you able to reclaim a maximum of 70% of your troops, but you will have to wait to gain enough Loyalty to even re-enlist Troops unless you spend Gems to get them back.
The absolute only time I would say that Rapid Healing is not necessary is if you have enough troops to fill 6 Rallies and still have leftovers. This takes an ample amount of time and Speedups, and you will be extremely late into the game if this is possible for you.
IS IT WORTH BATCH HEALING IN 3-MINUTE INTERVALS?
Yes and no. While it is actually faster to Heal in 3-minute intervals when you have a single player online to press help, it’s extremely tedious.
I’ve only done this twice in my history playing the game, and it was after Sunfire Castle when my Alliance decided to log off because they were “done healing their troops.”
Since my infirmary was still so filled on my Alt Account, rallying for a Polar Terror may have led my Troops to die, so instead did 3-minute heals to ensure this didn’t happen.
The way I describe the next part is… my carpal tunnel developed carpal tunnel…
Would I do it again? Absolutely, but only if I needed to. If after Sunfire I had enough space in my infirmary to let some extra troops get injured, I would have set up an hour or so of healing. This way, my team could help speed it up whenever they came back online. But, with the 3-minute batches I was able to heal about 70k troops in under an hour, which isn’t bad at all.
SHOULD YOU EVER USE GEMS TO HEAL?
In my opinion, no. You should really work together as an Alliance to get Batch Healing down, but if you are a “whale” or have a ridiculous number of Gems you don’t know how to use… sure. Waste them.
Even in the most extreme battles, Batch Healing can be done, unless a timer is getting so low, and you know for certain another Rally will knock the other players out of a building.
In very competitive moments, I would lean towards advising only healing the number of troops necessary to clear your infirmary to ensure no Troops die, rather than healing using Gems.
Of course, this comes from a player who is extremely F2P, but even if I was spending money on this game regularly… I would not spend Gems on Healing, it’s quite worthless.
CONCLUSION
So, I’m curious. Have you tried batch healing before? If so, how good has your alliance been with making sure everyone is up and ready to go? Is there anything your Alliance is struggling with, or do you have any recommendations for Alliances who are trying it for the first time?
