The Brawl at the Mall Missions | Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Last Updated March 27, 2022 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

With the latest Kirby game Kirby and the Forgotten Land came the introduction of bosses that are their own level and come with their own mission.

If you didn’t know by now how addicted I am to this game, you’re in for a real treat.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is one of the only games I have ever preordered and is also the game that I decided to break my “I don’t play demos” rule for.

The game comes with a variety of new aspects, including new abilities, Mouthful Modes which allow you to suck up large objects and even Missions that a player has to complete in order to progress side elements of the game.

Due to the way that the game was made, I have to say that the game feels much more difficult that other Kirby games I have played in the past, making the franchise feel more challenging and rewarding than ever before.

Now, I would have thought that only the standard levels came with Missions and while there are a few side elements that do not, I am happy to state that main bosses in the game come with a set of missions, albeit a little more straight forward than those in the levels, though still quite challenging to acquire.

At the end of the first chapter of Kirby and the Forgotten Land players must face Gorimondo, having to choose between Ice, Bomb and Sword skills. While fairly simple to defeat, I must say that I found it a bit challenging to score all the Missions in one go and had to return with an upgraded ability, though I will give you my tips.

The following guide will take you through everything you need to know about The Brawl At the Mall Missions and how to beat Gorimondo.

CLEAR THE AREA

As is with all other levels in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, players will be able to receive three Waddle Dees by simply defeating Gorimondo.

So, if you’re someone who struggles with battles, fear not as you will still be rewarded, even if you don’t successfully complete the other missions.

CLEAR WITHIN 2:00

The Clear within 2 Minutes Mission is quite easy to do. Essentially players can tank and spank Gorimondo as long as they avoid any of his earthquake attacks.

In my first attempt I have to admit I got smacked by this guy a few times. This isn’t a big deal as long as players are attacking rapidly any time they have the chance to.

Admittedly, the Sword is a great Weapon to use for this due to its combo attack.

SLIP THROUGH GORIMONDO’S LEGS

Whenever Gorimondo is distracted or has just taken a shot at you, you will have an opening to run through his legs. Take these opportunities, but note that you will only need to complete it once.

DEFEAT GORIMONDO WITH THE SWORD COPY ABILITY

Quite frankly the simplest of Missions to complete and shockingly, I made the decision to fight with a Sword my first time going through this level. Being that I was lucky I was able to complete this Mission quickly, but I have to say… the Sword isn’t the easiest Weapon to use if you are trying to complete the next mission.

CLEAR WITHOUT TAKING ANY DAMAGE

Admittedly this is the hardest Mission to complete and will take players a few tries before they get it done.

While Gorimondo isn’t the most difficult boss to beat, it can be hard to avoid all of his damage.

I have to say, I failed getting this Mission a number of times because I kept getting hit a single time when not paying full attention. Don’t sweat it if you don’t get it right the first time, it happens to the best of us.

TIPS FOR DEFEATING GORIMONDO

Gorimondo has a few types of attacks. He can chuck rocks at a player, which a player can dodge pretty easily.

During this time players can simply attack Gorimondo using an ability or can use stars.

Admittedly, during this battle, using stars tends to be easier to do so you can attack him at a range without taking damage, though upgraded abilities or leaving bombs all over the place works well too.

Gorimondo will also jump and cause a quake. Whenever he jumps begin flying to avoid the attack. Kirby can fly indefinitely, so even if you are in the air for a while, don’t sweat it, especially if you’re already completed the “Defeat Gorimondo in 2 Minutes” challenge.

When Gorimondo gets low on health he will begin doing a whirlwind attack. This can be frustrating to avoid as it will depend where the player is before it starts. If you’re utilizing the bomb here, place bombs as you run as Gorimondo will follow you, however, the most important thing to do here is RUN!
