The time has come for me to return to writing guides and I think it may come as a shocker to many of you that the game that brought me back is Conan Exiles.
I was recently offered a code for Conan Exiles for my Twitch Stream and while typically I will play a game that has sponsored me once on stream, unless I really like it, I’m actually making Conan Exiles a regular on the stream for the foreseeable future since I enjoy it so much. Truthfully, I’ve been enjoying Conan Exiles so much that I blitzed through the majority of the levelling content off-stream and tried to learn the min-maxing a player can do within a couple of days.
As many of you will know and feel too well, it’s hard to find a video game you’re passionate about that you can sink hundreds of hours into and while I thought I found that in New World before taking my extended guide writing leave, I can’t say whether or not I’ll be returning to the game because of all the uncertainty of where the team is going to take it.
My hope is that Conan Exiles is going to be different and knowing that there is an “end” to the game has me a bit more hopeful as it tends to mean that the creators have a clear idea of where they’re going to take the game and I won’t be bound to the idea of “catching up” since there’s no actual penalty other than missing a few days of Battle Pass.
With all that being said, I hope to delve as thoroughly into this game as I did with other Survival Craft games like V-Rising which became my hyper fixation for a number of months and re-fuelled my love for Survival Craft games. Already I see a lot of similarities between the games, though I have to say that the levelling system in Conan Exiles is much more intriguing to me as it really allows you to customize your character to your needs and quite frankly makes the game a lot more manageable especially if you’re a solo player like me. That being said, even though I have more of a solo player mentality I will be researching and experiencing some PVP as well, so don’t worry I won’t leave my PVP readers hanging.
But, let’s get started on what you need to know about levelling and what your maximum level on Conan Exiles can be!
HOW DO YOU LEVEL IN CONAN EXILES?
Much like New World, Conan Exiles has gone down the direction of every task allowing you to level up, meaning that players who like to take more of a passive role while playing the game can still get the experience they need in order to alter the juicy level ups that everyone will require in order to smoothly play Conan Exiles.
Realistically, this is best for players that are in group settings as specializing in certain tasks will be more significant, especially since solo play will mostly require you to be able to survive battles. Now, with that being said solo players are probably going to want to pay the most attention to the levelling up system as it will ensure that they are able to get the most done as early as possible.
All of the tasks a player can complete to get experience include:
Completing Journal tasks
Locating notable locations on the map, such as camps and caves
Harvesting resources with any tool
Killing enemies
Crafting anything
WHAT IS THE FASTEST WAY TO LEVEL UP IN CONAN EXILES?
Realistically the fastest way to level up in Conan Exiles is to craft, especially if you are able to join a server that already has a good amount of resources. Many players actually recommend that you stick to just crafting chests, however, I must admit this is probably the most boring way of getting up to maximum level.
Now, if you’re anything like me, who gets bored extremely easily, I would strongly recommend that you head to the desert and start killing Hyenas as well as Rocknoses, which are the stone creatures that will provide you with Stone, Ironstone Ore as well as other mineral type resources. Now, the main reason I recommend these types of mobs is that the higher the difficulty of the mob, the more experience you get. Not only that, but these mobs will provide you with pretty useful resources that are good for early game. Quite frankly, I spent the majority of my time here because I was in constant need of Iron and Steel and levelled up to max in a few hours.
I would strongly recommend avoiding gathering ores or resources in the beginning if you’re trying to level up quickly. The experience you get is not going to be worth it by any means and should just be a passive way of gathering your experience at most.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LEVEL YOU CAN BE IN CONAN EXILES?
A player will only be able to gain 60 levels by the end of the base game of Conan Exiles though you can utilize mods to get to a higher level.
In my opinion, a mod to push past the maximum level is not a necessity even in single-player, though it does make the game a bit easier for those who are struggling especially in solo content. Now, you would think that levelling in the end all be all, but the reality is that at most this is just going to affect how many points you can put into your attributes.
SO CAN YOU PUT POINTS IN ALL OF YOUR ATTRIBUTES?
Yes and no. So, at most, you will be able to fill 3 of your Attributes to completion, though you can mix and match as you please. Not only will you be able to mix and match, but you are never locked into the Attributes you chose, so any time you are on your journey you can simply reset them and choose new ones. I strongly recommend that players switch their attributes often to ensure that they are getting the most out of their Attribute based on the task they are completing.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, players will only be able to reach a maximum of level 60 until they are capped in Conan Exiles. Though this is the case, I wouldn’t sweat it as having 3 tiers of Attributes maxed out tends to be more than enough, though if you want to go further than level 60 you always have the option to use a mod which isn’t the end of the world as mods work fairly seamlessly in Conan Exiles as long as they are updated regularly and you make sure to turn off all of your mods until they are updated during any patch.
