How to Repair Weapons & Tools in Grounded

Last Updated October 11, 2022 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

Grounded is a game where you have to manage your resources, and one of the things that comes along with that task is maintaining your Weapons, Tools, and Equipment, keeping them in good condition.

When an item is damaged or breaks, rather than making a brand new one players should know how to repair it instead, which is a much more efficient use of resources.

I have to say, in the past I haven’t really enjoyed the way that players had to repair Weapons and Tools as it felt extremely overwhelming, but in the latest launch of Grounded they made it a lot smoother to actually repair your Gear.

I can still remember yelling for my husband on our Twitch Streams asking if he by chance had the items required to fix my Weapons, but we constantly ended up in situations where we hyper-focused on other resources and didn’t actually have the materials needed because we were farming up other materials.

The following guide will take you through all of the reworks for the Grounded release and I hope you’re just as excited as I am to see the change!

HOW TO REPAIR GEAR IN GROUNDED

To Repair an item in your inventory, players simply need to select the item and choose ‘Repair’, bringing up the Repair screen where it will display the cost of repairing that particular item.

Most Tools and Armor are repaired using some number of the materials it took to craft the item in the first place. For example, the Mosquito Needle (2 Mosquito Beak, 2 Silk Rope, 2 Mosquito Blood Sack) can be repaired for the cost of 1 Mosquito Beak. The Repair items can be in the player’s inventory or a nearby chest.

HOW TO REPAIR UPGRADED GEAR

For your most precious Weapons and Armor such as the Club of the Mother Demon and anything that you’ve upgraded past level 5 you can use Repair Glue to get it back in good condition.

No matter what base repair ingredients the Weapon or Armor used, one Repair Glue is all you need. This is honestly so much better and means now you only need a single designated stack in your inventory to repair your valuable items, as opposed to carrying various insect parts around before.

HOW TO GET A GLUE MASHER

To get Repair Glue, players will need to first build a Glue Masher. This is unlocked by purchasing Advanced Smithing: Glue Masher for 500 Raw Science from BURG.L’s shop after turning in the Black Anthill BURG.L Chip.

To build the Glue Masher players need the following materials:

3 Acorn Shell

3 Sprig

2 Crude Rope

1 Stinkbug Part

HOW TO MAKE REPAIR GLUE

Unlike most recipes in Grounded, Repair Glue actually has several recipe options that all yield the same end result.

The recipes are:

3 Antlion Parts OR

2 Black Ox Parts OR

5 Bombardier Parts OR

5 Ladybug Parts OR

2 Roly Poly Parts OR

8 Spider Chunks OR

5 Stinkbug Parts OR

4 Termite Parts

With these choices players can always use whichever parts are easiest for them to obtain, or whatever they have an excess of.

Like many other Utility Structures, you can collect your Repair Glue from the Glue Masher’s menu interface or by grabbing the finished item off the floor beneath the Structure.

So tell me, are you a fan of the changes to the Repair mechanic in Grounded? Are there any Weapons or Armor that you always dread finding repair materials for?
