How to farm Amethyst in Punball

Last Updated July 20, 2022 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer Leave a Comment

With the newest update to Punball we were introduced to the Sacred Altar which is used to upgrade a player’s stats as well as provide them with access to Artifacts.

While I don’t recommend strictly focussing on levelling up the Sacred Altar when you’re a new player, I do think that it’s a great way to get some extra damage if you are in the mid-to-late game and a player should never be discouraged from gathering resources for it early.

As I covered yesterday, players will need a couple of resources to upgrade their Sacred Altar. Of course, players need Coins, which is the most common currency used in Punball, though players will need Amethyst and Divine Saintspar. Though I’ve covered the various ways players will be able to collect Divine Saintspar, I think it’s equally as important to know how to collect Amethyst.

Luckily for players, Amethyst is actually a lot easier to farm than Divine Saintspar, though players will need much more Amethyst than Divine Saintspar.

The following guide will take you through everything you need to know about Amethyst, including how to farm it and what you’re going to use it for.

HOW DO YOU GET AMETHYST?

Amethyst is actually one of the easiest and most consistent resources players can farm in all of Punball.

Players will be able to acquire Amethyst in their Offline Earnings and Quick Earnings. Players will need to be high enough in their stages in order to acquire this resource, so if you’re not seeing it right away, don’t sweat it too much.

The amount of Amethyst players get this way is a bit random, but getting free resources for doing nothing is the best way to get resources.

Beyond Stage 35 players will gain 100 Amethyst for every Boss that they kill, which may not seem like much, but can actually really help cushion the amount of Amethyst you need while you wait to grind up enough Divine Saintspar.

If players are looking to farm Amethyst strategically or to farm strategically in general, they should always pick a stage with 60 Rounds. The reason I say this is because you will always get 2 Bosses in stages with 60 Rounds. Not only will this guarantee you 200 Amethyst, but Bosses tend to drop better loot for you to upgrade all of your Weapons and equipment.

A not-so-secret tip to playing Punball is that you will commonly need to farm up lower-tier content over and over to get your equipment up as if you advance too far all of your daily challenges will become too difficult for you to complete, so my advice is to find a decently high-level stage to keep farming. For example, if you are currently on stage 84, try farming stage 70.

Players will want to make sure that they choose stages with Bosses that teleport instead of Bosses that make their way to the bottom of the screen, attack then disappears. The reason I say this is because it is not always possible to kill a Boss before it attempts to disappear. This is especially true if you’re a player who is not playing with their full attention on the game, even if they have cleared this Stage before.

While it is true that players will have a higher chance to gain better Gear from higher-tier content, there isn’t a massive difference within a 20-stage window and quite frankly it’s better to be able to quickly clear content than just grind the highest-tier over and over.

The final and best way to get Amethyst is in the Apollo Ruins. Unfortunately, the Apollo Ruins are going to be a limited-time event for players, though for opening chests players can receive a couple of thousand Amethyst. Although players can receive high yields of Amethyst this way, they will still need to clear and reclear regular Stages.

The Apollo Ruins currently do not fuel the maximum amount of Divine Saintspar or Amethyst needed to fuel up your Sacred Altar, so get to grinding those regular stages and remember that you will only get the Amethyst resource from Bosses.

HOW DO YOU USE AMETHYST?

Amethyst is only used in the Sacred Altar and players will need more and more of it to fuel up the altar. Starting with a couple hundred, the Sacred Altar begins needing thousands of Amethyst in the late stages, meaning players will need to do a lot of grinding.

Admittedly, this isn’t the worst thing to have to do as I mentioned, players will need to repeat lower-tier content over and over again to be able to fuel Evolving their Gear and Pets. So get to work!
