The Fire Trap map in Bloons Adventure Time TD is one of the most unique maps in the game, featuring a split track that requires characters with long-range.
The Fire Trap is ranked as a 4-Skull map, but it does not feature many difficulty modifiers. The only difficulty modifiers included on this map are bloon shields and some bloons have one extra layer.
All-in-all the Fire Trap is a fairly simple map to beat and the following guide will take you through the best characters to take into this map, trinkets that will help make your experience easier spells you can use in clutch situations, allies you may want to use and of course, the most important aspect, where to place your characters.
This guide can be used for any tier difficulty.
TRINKETS YOU WANT TO TAKE
Range is going to be the stat you want to focus on when going into the Fire Trap.
The following are the trinkets I would recommend bringing into the Fire Trap:
Fire Crown on the Flame Princess to help extend her range.
Glasses of Nerdicon on as many characters as possible for +9 range

USE THE FLAME PRINCESS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
The Flame Princess is an easter egg that can be found in the Fire Trap map.
Although the Flame Princess has a fairly long cool down, she can really help swing things in your direction, especially if you just need that extra push.
Unless your characters have a trinket that requires them to pop a bloon, using the Flame Princess every time she is off cooldown.
WHERE & WHEN TO PLACE CHARACTERS IN THE FIRE TRAP
The image above is the placement of all of my characters before I start placing allies.
Below is a step-by-step tutorial on how I place characters to defeat the Fire Trap in Bloons Adventure Time TD.
#1. PLACE FINN & MONEY MAKING ALLIES
It’s important that you place Finn directly under the Flame Princess.
Finn is going to be the best character to catch any straggler bloons and truthfully, he is often used as my money-making character because of his ridiculous attack speed.
I usually pair Finn up with a couple of COBRAs so I don’t have to place Princess Bubblegum until later in the game. Alternatives to placing COBRA are BMO or using Princess Bubblegum’s Royal Decree which provides $750 per round.
If you can avoid using Royal Decree, I recommend saving the upgrade for Jellybeans Have Power because extra damage is going to be important for this map.
#2. PLACE THE SUPERMONKEY
I always try to place the Supermonkey onto the map as early as possible so I can upgrade his Heroic Aura and make all of my other character’s upgrades cheaper.
Upon upgrading the Supermonkey to Heroic Aura feel free to start placing characters in the order you see the best fit, however, I would make sure you only place a few characters before you begin upgrading character’s abilities.
Placing a new character is often stronger than upgrading an already placed character, however, this will all depend on how many trinkets you have and what level you are.
#3. PLACE THE FLAME PRINCESS, JAKE & PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM
After I have upgraded the Supermonkey’s Heroic Aura I choose to place my characters that help support my range.
The Flame Princess has an outstanding amount of range with Flamebits. She also deals a great deal of damage with the remainder of her
Jake passively gives all characters in his range more range, making him very useful on this map. You can also make Jake more effective by upgrading Jake of All Trades.
Princess Bubblegum is my usual choice because she teams up with Finn with Bound by Word, though dependant on what characters you have levelled up you can also swap her (or Jake) with Marceline.
When I was progressing I had a higher level of Marceline than any other character, so it made no sense if I didn’t use her. The most important character in this trio that you place is the Flame Princess because of her consistent damage and range.
#4. BEGIN UPGRADING CHARACTERS ABILITIES
Start out by upgrading your Flame Princess’s Heat Sense so that you can damage all camo bloons. The Flame Princess should be able to annihilate the majority of bloons as her attacks can quite literally bounce across the whole map.
You will also want to upgrade your Supermonkey so he has Disarming Charisma, which will pop bloons in the area of damage.
If you are struggling with some cash now would be the time you use the spell Golden Crown which will give more cash per pop.
It is not important that you upgrade Jake or Princess Bubblegum very far as at this point you’re going to want to start placing more characters.
#5. PLACE COMMANDER CASSIE & C4 CHARLIE
I’m a huge believer in using Commander Cassie as much as possible. Again, this is not possible for everyone as you will need a Jetpack to place Commander Cassie on the map.
If you do not have a Jetpack, I would switch Commander Cassie out for Marceline and C4 Charlie out for Max.
Commander Cassie has the most map coverage in the game with her ability M.A.F. and with C4 Charlie by her side, she can upgrade her Bloontonium Tips to become a Mounted Mauler which deals extra damage against all MOABs.
C4 Charlie can deal impressive damage with her MOAB Mauler and when she is levelled up she can use an active ability MOAB Assassin which will deal massive damage to MOABs.
#6. PLACE SAM, MAX OR SAI
At this point in the game, you can start doing whatever you want. You should have enough money to start placing your final characters on the map.
Sai and Sam are great characters to have on the map as final characters as Sai can upgrade her Tetsubishi which will leave spiky caltrop traps on the track. This will make sure that any bloons that are lingering are popped before they reach the end of the map.
Sai also deals with some heavy damage to MOABs when she upgrades her Bloonatomy.
I love Sam because of her Polymorph which stuns enemy bloons. Sam also has a good amount of range, especially if she is given the Thought Cannon Wand which gives more range and gives players bonus drops.
Sam deals a good amount of general damage, but she’s the character that you can switch out if you have someone better or prefer someone.
It took me a while to get Sam’s powerup item, always making her my last choice.
I stopped using Max because he’s boring, but he deals a good amount of damage and usually has a good amount of range. I’m sure you know everything you need to know about Max because he’s pretty cut and dry…
#7. PLACE YOUR FINAL ALLIES
Now would be the time you place your favourite allies. I usually take in Lemonhope on Princess Bubblegum. Putting Lemonhope on Princess Bubblegum allows you to get two duplicates with her upgrade To Me.
Lemonhope allows characters to deal faster attack damage, making her one of the most important allies in Bloons Adventure Time TD.
I use Lemonhope on Supermonkey, Finn, Flame Princess, C4 Charlie, Commander Cassie, and Sai.
I would also place any Technological Terrors that you have as they have a huge amount of range and do a lot of damage. Sometimes I put Lemonhope on them because of their high output, but this depends on your preference and how powered up your characters are.
CONGRATS YOU WIN!
If you follow the guide above you should be able to complete the Fire Trap on any game difficulty.
If you ever are struggling with an “Oh shit! Moment” remember that you can use the spell Dimension Disruptor which will destroy all the bloons and give you back your health.
If you are unable to defeat the BAD in level 75 or you are unsure about whether you have the damage to destroy it I would pop it just in case. Dimension Disruptor only costs 1000 coins which are extremely easy to farm.
So I’m curious, how hard did you find the Fire Trap? Who did you take into the map? Let me know in the comments below!
