Captain Cassie Hidden Secret Upgrade BATTD | Bloons Adventure Time TD

Last Updated January 4, 2021 By Johnny Salib / FlamingGaymer 4 Comments

Bloons Adventure Time TD has a few hidden secrets meant for you to find as you dive deeper into gameplay.

While many of these secrets seem to be surface-level hidden secrets that can be found in maps, one of the secrets completely evaded me because it requires you to place two characters together.

In a post that I made a few days ago that mentioned my favourite characters, I mentioned that I don’t use Captain Cassie unless required to for daily missions or in the Martian Games, but I think that may change today.

Captain Cassie is easily overshadowed by Commander Cassie as Commander Cassie has a global map covered with her upgrade M.A.F.

Captain Cassie, while admittedly really great for early players, really fizzles out when it comes to impoppable tiered content, especially.

The reason for this primarily has to do with Captain Cassie lacking range and her sub-par abilities, not anything impressive. Even as you upgrade her abilities it seems like Captain Cassie doesn’t become a whole lot more powerful, so if you’re looking for DPS, then maybe this tip isn’t for you either.

ALL CAPTAIN CASSIE’S UPGRADES (INCLUDING HIDDEN)

Before putting Captain Cassie onto your team, it’s a good idea to go through all of her abilities to confirm that they are what you need in your team build.

REQUIRES ANOTHER CHARACTER

Privateer | Requires Princess Bubblegum | Faster attack speed (Cassie & Allies) | Allies cost 10% less

Treasure Hunter | Hidden Upgrade when placed next to Supermonkey | Each round approximately 3 Supermonkey Totems  drop each giving $350 each

DAMAGE UP

Heavy Duty Ammo | Cannonball attacks are bigger

Grape Shot | Captain Cassie fires an additional piercing attack that spreads

Fire Barrels | Captain cassie throws explosive barrels onto the track

Broadside | All weapons are fired at a time in an onslaught

Crew Upgrades |  Increases the amount of Pirate Crew allies from 3 to 5.

MOAB Takedown | Latch onto a MOAB and deal massive damage

RANGE OR VISION

Long Cannon| Increases range

Crows Nest | Captain Cassie and nearby allies can detect camo bloons

EXTRA MONEY

Bloon Pillage | Bloons that are popped by Captain Cassie or her allies will give more cash

WHEN IS TREASURE HUNTER AVAILABLE

Treasure Hunter is locked until Captain Cassie has been upgraded to level 5. This is one of the biggest reasons why so many people miss this hidden secret.

As mentioned, due to the fact that Captain Cassie doesn’t have any impressive stats and is unusable on land until she is given a Jetpack, she doesn’t receive much gameplay, especially for mid-tier players.

Treasure Hunter does not seem to be gated on the Supermonkey’s end and should be available even if the Supermonkey is under level 5.

TREASURE HUNTER IS STILL NOT APPEARING, WHY?

There are a few reasons that Treasure Hunter still may not be appearing on your screen.

The most common reasonings for this include the fact that Cassie and the Supermonkey must be in range of each other and must complete certain upgrades.

For the Supermonkey the required upgrades include Laser Eyes, Disarming Charisma, Plasma Eyes, Supersonic Speed. Hypersonic Speed and most importantly Sun Avatar.

As for Captain Cassie, she requires the following upgrades Long Canon, Crows Nest, Crew Upgrades, and finally Bloon Pillage.

If done correctly Treasure Hunter should always appear.

WHEN SHOULD I USE TREASURE HUNTER OR CAPTAIN CASSIE?

Due to the fact that Captain Cassie is still not the most impressive character in the game, I wouldn’t rely on her completely for DPS.

Knowing about this hidden secret helps place Captain Cassie into a support role, especially if Captain Cassie’s only purpose is to help upgrade other characters.

I personally recommend upgrading Captain Cassie’s Treasure Hunter about midway through the game to help spike the amount of money you’re making.

This will help fund expensive upgrades such as Sun God which costs $40,000.

Truthfully, the amount you’re going to be making from Treasure Hunter will allow you to upgrade your characters to max within a few rounds of the map, making Treasure Hunter my new favourite source of income?

IS TREASURE HUNTER BETTER THAN ROYAL DECREE?

Yes, and no. While Royal Decree gives you less money ($750 per round) it’s much better for early game cashflow.

Royal Decree doesn’t require two characters to be placed and costs less to get to than Treasure Hunter.

Royal Decree also requires you to activate the ability every round, while Treasure Hunter only requires you to hover over the totems whenever they drop. This makes collecting cash extremely smooth and easy.

WOULD YOU EVER USE BOTH TREASURE HUNTER AND ROYAL DECREE?

No, I would choose one and not take the other.

Princess Bubblegum’s Jellybeans Have Power and Soda Mints are great upgrades to have for the DPS you lose by using Captain Cassie.

CONCLUSION

Treasure Hunter makes getting cash a lot easier than any other allies or characters including Dr. Monkey, BMO and Cobra.

Though I’ll be honest, I still place two Cobra at the beginning of each map to get some early game cashflow to pay for early game characters.

Treasure Hunter doesn’t seem to be a necessity when you have enough trinkets or if your characters are a high enough level, so I expect myself to shelf Captain Cassie again in the near future.

I’m curious, did you know about the hidden upgrade Treasure Hunter? Do you use it in every match? What’s your favourite way of getting money on a map? Let me know in the comments below!

a little off topic but, there are trinkets that gives off buffs to allies in range like +5% attack speed to allies in range, etc…
so if i equip those to Marceline, does the AOE of that trinket happens from the floating Marceline or from her casket?

To my knowledge when I last played it was based on the Casket’s AoE. Unfortunately I haven’t played the game in a bit of time so I don’t know if they’ve changed it since, but I don’t see why they would.
