Coming back into Trove has been a bit confusing for me as I’m not always 100% sure what a resource is for and seem to have a build up of certain resources that I want to learn how to use, but never end up using.
A resource I have come across multiple times with my comeback has been Bound Brilliance, which I first located as being a reward for the weekly challenge rewards, and although I had half the mind to ignore it instead of ensuring that I do enough dungeons weekly to receive the reward, I was definitely going to smack myself if I actually missed out on a single week of this rare resource.
Bound Brilliance is an end game kind of reward that players will want to make sure that they grind up as much of as it is going to help players power up their Gems, meaning that players will be able to max out all of their Gems to 100%.
HOW DO YOU GET BOUND BRILLIANCE?
Bound Brilliance can be acquired by opening up event Boons, by completing weekly challenges for the selected classes, by acquiring a Book of Bound Brilliance tome, for purchase from Luxion, from Lesser Geodian Topside Caches, from Skelly’s Treasure Box and for completing certain Golden Threads.
The only consistent way to continuously get Bound Brilliance is through the weekly challenge that will allow players to acquire 7 per each class that completes 125 Dungeons.
It is recommended that players grind out as many of these as possible as even if they are not currently looking to power up their Gems, they will benefit a lot if they grind these out early on so they are not locked out later or waiting too long to get enough.
WHAT DO YOU USE BOUND BRILLIANCE FOR?
There are three items you can craft, each located in the Gem Section of the Adventurer’s Crafting Bench.
The items that can be crafted are the Builder’s Rough Focus, Builder’s Precise Focus and Builder’s Superior Focus, each of them providing players with a boost for Gem stats, though each providing a different amount of boost depending on which tier the player chooses.
Players will want to try to focus on building only the Builder’s Superior Focus, though this is not always possible due to the crafting recipe requiring both Diamond Dragonite, which is used to craft Primordial Dragons and Titan Souls which can be tough for newer players to grind if they are not completing Delves regularly.
If players are missing both of these resources or are not farming them regularly, they should not shy away from crafting one of the lower tier Focuses as they can still be beneficial even though they provide less stats.
The following is everything you need to know about the different Focuses:
BUILDER’S ROUGH FOCUS
The Builder’s Rough Focus provides the lowest yield of stats for Gems, making it the least desirable for players to craft.
While this is true, the Builder’s Rough Focus is by far the most accessible for players, especially if they are struggling with Flux, Gem Dust or Diamond Dragonite as it costs the least out of all the other Focuses.
I strongly recommend avoiding building them unless you have no other way to grind up your Gems unless you are very close to getting your Gem to 100% and simply don’t want to waste resources.
The following are the boosts players can receive by using a Builder’s Rough Focus:
Best: 2.5%
Second Best: 1.25%
Third Best: 0.833%
Worst: 0.625%
Due to the amount of stats players can receive from the Builder’s Rough Focus, players who are not using it simply because they do not have the other resources should only begin using it when their Gems are between 90-95% as using another type of Builder’s Focus may be a waste.

BUILDER’S PRECISE FOCUS
The most common Focus players will want to craft is the Builder’s Precise Focus as it does not require players to collect any time sensitive materials.
Builder’s Rough Focuses do come at the cost not having enough Gem Dust, though players should be able to farm these regularly by participating in the weekly Gem Day and by having the tomes that provide players with Gem Dust.
Players will also want to make sure that they empower any Stellar Gems to level 15 before breaking them down as this will ensure that a player gets the most Gem Dust that they can.
Builder’s Rough Focuses provide players with a decent amount of stats and can be used as the main source for upgrading Gems, though if players are simply trying to save resources they can use these at 85% and above instead of using the Builder’s Superior Focus.
Builder’s Precise Focus provide players with the following stat boosts:
Best: 5%
Second Best: 2.5%
Third Best: 1.667%
Worst: 1.250%

BUILDER’S SUPERIOR FOCUS
The Builder’s Superior Focus is going to be the Builder’s Focus players want to focus on as it will provide players with the most stats out of the three.
Builder’s Superior Focuses are very expensive and players will want to make sure that they have no other needs for their Diamond Dragonite or Titan Souls, which both tend to be useful for other resources.
Builder’s Superior Focuses tend to be easier to grind for players with Patron and may be less obtainable for those without it, though I would still recommend for all players to try to focus on building them whenever you have the opportunity to do so.
Using a Builder’s Superior Focus will provide a player with the following stat boosts:
Best: 12.5%
Second Best: 6.25%
Third Best: 4.167%
Worst: 3.125%

ARE THERE ANY OTHER WAYS TO GET FOCUSES IN TROVE?
Players will be extremely happy to note that they can receive all of these Builder’s Focuses as well as the Contained Chaos Spark and Contained Chaos Flare by opening up Lustrous Gem Boxes on Wednesdays as they can collect 3 of these boxes when playing regularly and 6 of these if they have Patron.
Players will not be able to fully rely on these chests as they do not provide the player with enough Focuses or Contained Chaos to perfect their Gems, thus players will still need to use a lot of their Bound Brilliance.
