Kaeya is going to be the third character that players have access to for free when playing Genshin Impact after completing Prologue Act I: The Outlander Who Caught the Wind’s quest: Crash Course.
Kaeya is a Cryo melee character who wields a Sword and while not the most powerful character, does provide players with a good amount of capabilities, as he will allow players to freeze mobs in order to deal more damage without being damaged by the mobs.
Kaeya is a very interesting character to keep on hand as he will help allow players to cross water without the need to swim as his first ability allows him to freeze water below him.
While slow to initiate, this ability is going to come in extremely handy for players as there are many instances where players will want to cross bodies of water in order to progress the main story line.
TALENTS
BASIC ATTACK
As a Normal Attack, Kaeya is able to attack with 5 rapid strikes.
When players hold down Kaeya’s auto attack they are able to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes, consuming stamina and causing a Charged Attack.
When Kaeya is in the air, players can attack, dealing damage to all opponents on a path, essentially dealing AoE damage upon impact.
ABILITY 1
Kaeya’s first ability is Frostgnaw which unleashes a frigid blast that deals Cryo damage to all enemies in front of him.
If a mob is in water, this will also freeze them.
ABILITY 2
Kaeya’s second ability is Glacial Waltz and will bring all the ice that is in the area and summon 3 icicles that revolve around him 4 times for 8 seconds.
Icicles will follow Kaeya and deal Cryo damage to all enemies in his path for as long as they are up.
1ST ASCENSION PASSIVE
Upon upgrading Kaeya to his 1st Ascension, players will be able to regenerate 15% of his attack as HP whenever using Frostgnaw.
4TH ASCENSION PASSIVE
Upon upgrading Kaeya to his 4th Ascension , players will drop additional Elemental Particles everytime they freeze an enemy with Frostgnaw.
Frostgnaw will be able to provide a maximum of 2 additional Elemental Particles per use.
UTILITY PASSIVE
As a passive, Kaeya will provide him and his party with 20% less Stamina consumption when running.
It should be noted that players will not be able to stack this with another passive talent with the same passive.
TALENT LEVELING MATERIALS
TALENT LEVEL-UP MATERIAL
Talents can be levelled up by heading into the Talents tab when in a character’s profile, though players will not be able to do this until they have ascended at least one time.
Levelling talents will essentially make the talents more powerful.

COMMON ASCENSION MATERIAL
Ascensions essentially allow players to upgrade their characters beyond certain thresholds. Each ascension has a cap on how many levels the player will be able to level up their character before they are technically forced to ascend their character.
The following are items players can receive in order to complete their talent upgrades after Ascensions:

CONSTELLATION
As players are trying to ascend their characters players will also want to unlock pieces of their Constellation which will add more passives or upgrades to their talents.
Constellations can be upgraded using the Stella Fortuna.
Players will be able to gather Stella Fortuna by collecting duplicates of the character, though realistically players will probably not want to waste their time collecting Stella Fortuna for Kaeya.
The issue with Stella Fortuna is that it is bound to the character you collect it with and thus will not be useful for any other character.
The following are the Constellations players can acquire for Kaeya.
LEVEL 1 – EXCELLENT BLOOD
Upon upgrading Kaeya with the first Constellation players will unlock Excellent Blood.
Excellent Blood makes Kaeya’s Critical Rate for his Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks is increased by 15% as long as enemies are affected by Cryo.
LEVEL 2 – NEVER-ENDING PERFORMANCE
Upon upgrading Kaeya with the second Constellation players will unlock Never-ending Performance.
With Never-ending Performance anytime players kill an enemy, Glacial Waltz will gain an extended duration of 2.5 seconds up to a maximum of 15 seconds.
Players must have Glacial Waltz activated, however, enemies do not need to be killed by Glacial Waltz.
LEVEL 3 – DANCE OF FROST
Upon upgrading Kaeya with the third Constellation players will unlock Dance of Frost which will increase the level of Frostgnaw by 3.
It should be noted that the maximum a player can upgrade Frostgnaw is to level 15.
LEVEL 4 – FROZEN KISS
Upon upgrading Kaeya with the fourth Constellation players will unlock Frozen Kiss.
Frozen Kiss activates automatically if Kaeya’s health drops below 20%.
Frozen Kiss creates a shield that absorbs damage equal to 30% Kaeya’s Maximum Health and will last for 20 seconds.
Frozen Kiss works much more efficiently when up against Cryo dealing enemies, being able to absorb with 250% more efficiency.
Frozen Kiss can be activated every 60 seconds.
LEVEL 5 – FROSTBITING EMBRACE
Upon upgrading Kaeya with the fifth Constellation players will unlock Frostbiting Embrace which increases the level of Glacial Waltz by 3.
Similar to Dance of Frost, it should be noted that the maximum level of Glacial Waltz is level 15.
LEVEL 6 – GLACIAL WHIRLWIND
Upon upgrading Kaeya with the sixth Constellation players will unlock Glacial Whirlwind which will provide players with an additional icicle whenever Glacial Waltz is activated, regenerating 15 Energy whenever it is casted.
